Today we’d like to introduce you to Oge Nuss.
Oge , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I fell in love with fashion at a very young age. Growing up, I often struggled to find clothes that fit me just right, so I started learning how to sew my own pieces. To my surprise, I not only enjoyed it but discovered I had a natural gift, soon, friends and others began asking me to make clothes for them too.
At 22, shortly after graduating college I launched my first tailoring business. Even while working my 9–5 in healthcare, I would spend weekends sewing for a small but loyal group of clients. That season taught me the value of hard work, creativity, and perseverance.
When I became a mother, I made the decision to step away from both healthcare and sewing to focus on raising my kids. For nearly two years, I wasn’t sure if or when I’d return to fashion. Then, during my second pregnancy, the idea of focusing on alterations came to me. It felt like the perfect fit a way to use my skills, create flexibility for my family, and do something I truly loved.
Sewing is more than a job to me; it’s therapeutic. I never expected how much people needed alterations until I started offering the service. What began as a way to keep myself busy has now grown into a business where I’ve been blessed to serve hundreds of clients. Each day, I get to meet new people, help them feel confident, and watch how the right fit can transform how they carry themselves.
My journey has been anything but traditional, but I’m grateful to God for every twist and turn. Fashion has always been part of me, and through alterations I’ve found a way to balance my passion with my purpose as a mom.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve been blessed with an incredible support system and amazing clients who have made this journey so rewarding. The biggest challenge for me wasn’t the sewing itself it was learning how to turn a hobby into a business again. What started as a random ad I put up while bored and pregnant quickly grew into a full business that began taking off, all while I was balancing motherhood and family life.
In the beginning, I had to figure out everything from pricing and time management to setting up a professional in-home studio and handling client communication all while trying to build something sustainable. It hasn’t always been easy, I’m definitely still growing but every challenge has pushed me to become more focused, disciplined, and creative in how I run my business today.
We’ve been impressed with OG Alterations , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

At OG Alterations, it’s more than sewing it’s about helping people step out feeling confident, comfortable, and celebrated in what they wear.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
One of the things I love most about Dallas is how diverse and vibrant it is. There’s so much culture, opportunity, and creativity here, and I’ve been able to meet people from so many different walks of life through my work. The support for small businesses is also incredible people here truly value local talent and word-of-mouth goes a long way.
If I had to pick a challenge, it would be the traffic getting around can take a lot of time, especially when balancing a busy schedule. But even with that, Dallas still feels like a place full of growth and possibility, which is why I’m grateful to call it home.
