Meet Olivia De Alva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia De Alva.

Olivia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started in modeling nearly two years ago. It all started after I had my two daughters and I got into a health kick so that I can live a long healthy Life and had the desire to be their role model. Throughout the long journey of hard work and dedication, I lost 65 pounds and people started to grow interested. After some time, I began to grow the confidence in reaching out to businesses for modeling inquiries and I was blessed with multiple opportunities.

I was raised by a single mom and times were very hard growing up. Though I’m grateful for every learning experience I went through, I refuse to struggle with my kids, therefore, I enrolled into cosmetology school and I am currently a student because I know modeling cannot last forever and I certification is something I know my kids will be proud of. The fashion industry is just who I am and I know someday I will make it far in that field.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The journey has definitely been a struggle from working out and eating right, to being a full-time worker, a full-time student, part-time model, a full-time mother and now newly single. I think the hardest part about it all is learning how to balance your time for everyone But at the same time, not losing focus on your goals.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a boutique model and I specialize in modeling clothing to boost profit for a small business. I am most proud of the fact that I worked hard to get where I am today and to be the image of local businesses. I believe that I am most known for being a people person and working well with others. And I hope one day, when I graduate cosmetology school, with my experience and networking, I will own my own successful business which I will be able to give others the opportunity I was privileged to have.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, it was nice to help others and always a helping hand. I let my personality shine through. I have always been very independent and did what I could for who I could.
