Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Kennedy.
Hi Olivia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Olivia, but people online know me as MamaLiv. My husband inspired me to start sharing content, and he’s been my biggest supporter from the beginning, even when I was still figuring out what I wanted to share.
I started by posting pieces of my everyday life, and over time, that grew into a community that has followed me through some of the biggest changes in my life. Today, I’m a full-time content creator, a wife, and a mom of two boys. I share motherhood, beauty, routines, family life, and all the little moments in between.
My content has grown and changed as I have. I’m grateful that his encouragement to give it a try led me to a career I love and a community of women I get to connect with by sharing my life as it really is.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not all the time. Creating content can look like a lot of fun from the outside, and it is, but it also comes with pressure to keep showing up, come up with new ideas, and figure out how much of your personal life you want to share.
Becoming a mom changed my life and my work at the same time. I’ve had seasons where I felt really inspired and seasons where I felt like I was trying to find my footing again. Having two little ones while working from home has taught me that I can’t do everything perfectly every day. I’ve had to give myself room to grow and let my content grow with me. Some of the moments I’ve felt least put together have also been the moments people connected with most.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create lifestyle and motherhood content, usually through chatty get-ready-with-me videos, everyday routines, and little vlogs of our family life. I love sharing the fun, sweet parts of motherhood, but I also want women to feel comfortable saying when they’re tired or figuring things out as they go. What I’m most proud of is the community that’s grown around my content. When someone tells me a video made them feel seen or less alone, that means so much to me. I’m also proud that I’ve been able to turn something I love into a career while raising my boys. I think people connect with me because I talk to the camera the way I’d talk to a friend. I’m still learning and changing, and I’m happy to bring people along for that instead of pretending I have everything figured out.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think people might be surprised by how much thought goes into a video that looks completely casual. I love the spontaneous, real life moments, but I’m also the person thinking about the story, the clips, the edit, and whether it will feel true to me when I post it. My work and my everyday life overlap a lot, so finding that balance is something I’m always learning.
