Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Melville Gigi Morel
Hi Olivia Melville , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Gigi Morel and Olivia Melville grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana where they both developed a love for fashion. They attended high school and college together.
Post grad, Gigi and Olivia moved to Dallas, Texas where their friendship flourished. They discovered two things that brought them together – extra dirty martinis and a crippling shopping addiction. Soon, texts to each other were flooded with outfit pics and inspo. That’s when they decided to make their hobby and passion into something real – MEL + MORE BOUTIQUE.
MEL + MORE was created based on a shared dream and a few too many shared martinis. The store was established with a goal to offer styles for every woman to find the fun in fashion.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, it has been nothing short of amazing. We are so grateful for all the support. Every Instagram follow and like to every sale, it means the absolute world.
It definitely is difficult to set yourself apart and grow an audience organically. We are working hard to turnover new and exciting content with existing styles as well as shifting to a more drop based capsule wardrobe.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Gigi is a speech therapist and loves connecting with kids. She is truly so skilled at making learning fun and developing personal relationships with every student she comes across. She has a heart so big and has so much grace, I really admire her for it.
Olivia works as a fine jewelry specialist at RW Fine. Her entire career path has been fashion focused and fueled with a love of the industry,
I think we are both proud of our grit and work ethic. We both work 9-5’s and pour everything into the store after work and on the weekends. It definitely is hard work and challenging, but we know it will continue to pay off and make us stronger.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
WE love to network. We both really resonate will with hardworking, passionate individuals. Advice is always encouraged. One of my favorite quotes is to always receive advice from someone whose goals and lifestyle you admire.
