Meet Paige Bennett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Bennett.

Paige Bennett

Hi Paige, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Since college, I have always enjoyed exploring restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. When I moved to Nashville for graduate school, this passion grew more, and I started to document everywhere I went through Instagram.

At this time, I was working as a nurse and completing my nurse practitioner program. To make a healthy work-life balance, I enjoyed going out to eat with friends and co-workers. I loved checking out the different aesthetics of each restaurant.

After visiting multiple restaurants, I decided to create a specific Instagram page for my foodie finds. I called this page “paigefoodfinds.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the biggest obstacle in social media is the constant change in algorithm. For most of my content, I create photo carousels to showcase the restaurants. From my experience, TikTok favors photo dumps, while Instagram favors videos. In order to grow your following, you have to figure out which platform works best for you.

Another obstacle is managing my time between work and content creator events/collaborations. I often have restaurant collaborations right after my work schedule.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For my full-time job, I work as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. When I’m not at work, I enjoy collaborating with Dallas restaurants and sharing my experience on my Instagram page.

I’m most proud of being able to do two things that I love! From 9-5, I show my love for mental health advocacy by seeing multiple patients throughout the day. After the workday, I look forward to trying different Dallas restaurants and getting content.

I think what sets my content apart from others is that I focus more on the aesthetic of the restaurant as opposed to just the food. When people are choosing to go to a restaurant, I think most want to go somewhere with a good vibe. I think it’s important to capture the essence of the restaurant.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
To take some time away from social media. I love the positivity that social media brings by shedding light on local spots and bringing people together. On the other hand, I think it can breed a lot of competition and unnecessary comparisons.
