Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Robinson.
Paige, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Will Reed started as a job email newsletter for college students. We became hyper-focused on placing sales talent when we saw that those roles were what companies and candidates consistently wanted. In June of 2015, we launched as Will Reed, a recruiting firm that focuses solely on revenue generating roles for high-growth, VC backed companies.
Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to help companies like Qualtrics (bought by SAP), AppDynamics (bought by Cisco), MongoDB (IPOed in 2017), and Compass (raised $1B in funding) scale their sales organizations without losing sight of quality and culture.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Each year of growth has offered new lessons. Over the years, I’ve learned how to hire and keep great people, tell our story better to prospective customers, and build systems to repeat our success. The road is not smooth, but it’s a lot of fun — especially if you like who you are doing it with.

We’re a recruiting firm that specializes in helping high-growth, VC backed companies scale their sales organizations. We are uniquely able to do this because of our commitment to being “candidate-first.” That brand promise permeates through everything we do.
It informs what clients we select to work with, how we treat our recruiters, and what experience we provide to our candidates. Because we are “candidate-first,” we have a higher response rate than our competitors and have a very high retention rate with the candidates we place (96% in 2018).
What I love most is that our company is all about people. People are the only eternal thing we come in contact with every day. Will Reed helps people find their vocational calling… for our job! It’s inspiring work.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Our team inspires me daily. I’ve never seen a company of people that are more committed to each other and to a shared vision of how the world should be. We’ve had our fair share of challenging times, but they have been sweet in a way because only in challenging times are you truly able to see what you’re made of.
This team is “built to last,” backed by spouses, parents, children, friends who love us and are invested in what we do. I am also extremely grateful for our Board of Directors who are both brilliant and highly engaged in our success. It goes beyond the team and investors. We love our candidates and customers. We believe in them, and they believe in us.
