Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Connell.
Parker, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began taking photos when I was about 14 on my iPod Touch, and after a few years of shooting and editing on my iTouch, I got my first DSLR at 16. Since I got my camera, I have been refining my craft by becoming proficient in photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop and by picking up analog photography. I have been doing freelance work here and there since 2017 and specialize in portraiture.
Currently, I have fallen in love with the workflow of analog photography and have been looking to start producing physical copies of my film work, exploring both solo prints and photo book options. Contrary to my digital work that is now primarily portraiture, my film work is mostly street and still life photography, which is what I began shooting when I first developed an interest in taking photos.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
While photography has been an enjoyable ride so far, it certainly has not been devoid of obstacles. Photography is not exactly the cheapest passion to have, so you’ve got to be very selective and do plenty of research when purchasing new equipment. Recently, my 35mm camera was stolen, which was especially unfortunate because it was my most recent photography purchase. For now, though, disposables cameras will serve just fine as my 35mm alternative.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
As a business, I specialize in portraiture and am proud to offer both film and digital shoots for affordable rates. Whether you need an on-location photoshoot or in-studio headshots, I am eager to work with you and help you advance your business with professional-grade photography.
What were you like growing up?
As a kid, I was primarily interested in sports and music. Until I stumbled upon my passion for photography, music was really the only art form that I followed intensely. I still love basketball and football to this day and I’m a huge Mavs fan.
