Meet Patrick Pinkard of Concierge Fitness TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Pinkard.

Patrick, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
From the beginning, I have always been a fitness guy with body building dreams. I have never considered myself a sports guy or an athlete even though others always think I play professional sports. With over 20 years of training myself in and out of a gym, it wasn’t until 2010 I realized that I had a gift and could really help people. Motivated by this new direction in life, I became a Certified Personal Trainer through NPTI in Houston, TX. Shortly after I relocated to Arlington, TX where I landed my first personal training job. This job involved me traveling to Dallas and training clients in various locations (gyms, homes, parks). My employment was short lived with the company, due to mismanagement of the company, they went under. So, in 2013, with a strong desire to continue training, Concierge Fitness, TX was formed. I would now be in charge of my own success having my own business and being my own boss. With the concept of eliminating any excuse for not being able to train, I would bring the workout to the client. We are a company that has a passion for training anyone, anywhere, anytime that the client has time. Over the years, I have been faced with various challenges dealing with training, locations, and getting people to believe they can and will reach their goals. We have been fortunate enough to adapt and overcome each and every one of those challenges. We are always looking forward to helping people build a better relationship with fitness.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are always obstacles when starting a new small business. Our business is a service to the clients and not always one that people see as a necessity. Being a company that does not have a physical location, weather can be an obstacle at times. Another obstacle is people trusting someone enough to allow them into their homes to train them. Since we are not a free-standing gym, then I rely on word of mouth from current clients in a lot of my marketing. Obstacles are a way of life for everyone at some point, but it is also just a bump in the road meant to go over not to stop you. For every obstacle I come across, I pray about it and know there will be a solution for that obstacle.

Concierge Fitness TX – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Concierge Fitness, TX is best known for convenience to the client. Our goal was to provide the client with a no-excuse to not work out. So often it is hard to make time to go to a gym, make arrangements for the children or just the motivation to work out. With our business, we provide the reasons to work out. We bring the fitness session to the client’s home or outside environment of their choice. We pride ourselves with the exercise variety we offer as a business. Our program is set up for each specific client’s need and goals. We incorporate strength training in the majority of our workouts combined with cardio and resistance training. With age being a factor in everyone’s life, we put a lot of emphasis on core (lower back, abs) work. We offer different challenges throughout the year that are open to client’s and or non-client’s. We may do a nutritional challenge, a couple’s workout challenge, or individual challenges to keep everyone engaged in training and pushing themselves to something they may not have ever done.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is having a career that is your passion and calling. So many times, people define success as money, prestige, etc. but in reality, to do what I love and know God blessed me with the ability to live out my passion in my career is a success all of its own. Your ability to manage the time you have to get the things done that will boast you into a quality of life you can enjoy is one criteria that helps you achieve success. I ask myself, am I helping others reach their goals both short and long term? I want people to know fitness is not a temporary fix but a lifestyle change. I will also look at my business and how best to improve it to offer the best of it to the public.
