Today we’d like to introduce you to Perla Alvarado.
Perla, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Analy Jewelry was started as a creative outlet, to get away from my 8-5 office job. In the back of my head, I had always wanted to have a small business somewhere where I could create but didn’t think it was possible any time soon. Fortunately soon after the idea came into my head, to start making jewelry, and with the support of my family, everything started falling in to place. Analy Jewelry was started while I was still working my 8-5 but I was quickly becoming excited and committed for this to be my new job. After a month of brainstorming and preparing, I quit my job and gave this idea and passion a try. I haven’t stopped since.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a small business is exciting but it has its challenges. Since the beginning which is not long ago, there have been ups and downs. Sometimes you want to quit, you think your not good enough, competition is everywhere and there is so much to learn and most of the time it’s on your own.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Analy Jewelry is handmade jewelry business. I focus on bringing beautiful, creative, light weight and fun, clay jewelry to modern romantic women looking to find something new and unique that makes them feel pretty. I make Statement jewelry pieces, mostly earrings and from time to time necklaces, and hair accessories. I’m so proud to be able to say this Is a small business, created for women to get inspired.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Analy Jewelry comes from a studio made in my old room at my parent’s home in fortworth Texas, a simple little room that has shipped hundreds of packages across the United States. It is still in the beginning stages but knowing people from all over Texas, and as far as California all the way to New York have ordered a pair of earrings it’s enough to make me feel proud of my little business.
