Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Bradt.
Jennifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The practice originally opened in November of 2008. My family had recently relocated to Frisco from out of state and my youngest had started Kindergarten. I felt a calling to “hang my shingle” and Planting Seeds began as a solo practice. As the first few years passed I knew I wanted to expand into a group practice so began praying about next steps. The perfect people seemed to find their way to me and we slowly became what we are today…a group practice consisting of 8 counselors (some fully-licensed and some interns), a psychologist, a life coach and our office manager.
Has it been a smooth road?
Finding the people to add has been the smoothest part of the journey as they seem to have been divinely picked. We have moved several times which always comes with its own set of stressors but have muddled our way through them together. There have been growing pains from a business perspective where I have had to seek guidance from trusted colleagues as well as adopt a “learn as I go” philosophy.
However, with each bump seems to come a newly gained confidence and new knowledge that 10 years ago I never had any idea I would need!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
As a counseling and coaching practice we are able to assist our community with most mental health needs across the lifespan. We have some on staff who specialize in working with young children and spend their days offering play therapy. We have some who most enjoy working with adolescents and spend their days creatively figuring out how to connect with this age group in meaningful ways. Some of our clinicians work with individual adult male/female clients as well as couples seeking to salvage or simply improve their relationship. Our newest offering is life coaching which is a wonderful service in which we have had many executives/corporate employees find great benefit.
In addition to working with different age groups, our staff has different areas of specialty such as trauma treatment certification, emphasis on anxiety/depression, Prepare and Enrich (a program for those getting married and those hoping to improve their marriage) and our life coach offers Energy Leadership Assessments to assist her clients with better understanding how their current level of energy impacts them as well as those around them. Our practice is also very open to creating space for our clients to incorporate their spiritual lives in the work they do with us as we believe true healing can’t come without exploring this critical part of our being.
We strive to create an environment that is friendly and welcoming to all who enter our space. Our clients share with us that they enjoy the camaraderie that exists among our staff members as well as the punctual response time and personalized approach we make every attempt to offer each individual.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We are currently located in Frisco and with its current growth it is a wonderful place for a practice such as ours. I recently had a lengthy conversation with a clinician looking to open her first private practice and encouraged her to consider a location similar to ours.
There is an influx of families who we have found often benefit from both counseling and coaching as they strive to transition as smoothly as possible. We often remind them that even desired change can bring both stress and elements of grief so offering support to those on this journey is definitely a service in which we are experienced.
Pricing:
- 60 minute sessions with fully licensed clinicians and life coach are $125
- 60 minute sessions with our interns are $75
