Today we’d like to introduce you to Nwamaka.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My love for aesthetics started early in my childhood; ultimately aesthetics is embedded in me eternally. Growing up I was the go-to girl for nails, makeup, fashion etcetera. .straight out of high school I enrolled into a cosmetology program due to the aesthetics program being full at that time, I went on to become a licensed cosmetologist. However, my passion wasn’t for cosmetology but skincare and making all people and things beautiful! My mom politicked me into Respiratory Therapy because she felt that would be a more “creditable” career choice, I later graduated with a bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy. Being an RT is something I love as well yet the study of skincare has always had my heart.

Long story short I did makeup for a while as a freelance artist, after moving to Texas from Michigan I vowed to myself that I wouldn’t settle for anything less than I deserved nor wanted in my lifetime. I started doing makeup at a salon in Deep Ellum and went on to complete my journey of becoming an Aesthetician. I am now emerging my passion for health and beauty; it is a wonderful feeling when passion turns into purpose. I will be the future of Aesthetics and the Medical Spa industry!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has definitely not been smooth but the journey has been worth it. The struggles service the success and make the receptivity greater.

Polished By Nwa is my business and my devotion! I am in the beauty and personal care industry, aesthetics to be specific. I specialize in corrective skin care, lash artistry, body waxing and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures is in composition as well.

I’ve opted to stay true to my own style and the things I love to do. I am always elated when approached or complemented by other esty’s and people; it is such a wonderful feeling to be embraced in regards to what you love! My clients keep me dignified. They are eminent, my clients “trust the process.” The fact that I tend to gratify them time after time keeps me grounded, as well as knowing they will leave me educated, satisfied, refined and #POLISHED

I believe client satisfaction is number one, embracing constructive criticism and my yearning desire to learn more (continuing education) and do more will take me far in my profession! The artistry possessed within me will be my greater being in this constant evolving thriving industry. The beauty of life is living in it and constantly polishing.
