Today we’d like to introduce you to Porsha Jordan.
Porsha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Real Estate has been running through my veins since my early childhood days of growing up in Dallas, Texas. Every summer, my friends and I would ride our bikes throughout the neighborhood & envision ourselves having a recreation building for children of all ages with various classes & activities to engage in and develop. In middle school, I began to take action and write my local city council to be an advocate of change & inquire about the steps of ownership. This is at the age of 11-12 years old! It holds many memories of visualizing land developed into residential and commercial properties, renovating homes and spaces, and more. While attending college at the University of North Texas, I had the opportunity to work for home builders, a residential & commercial developer, and in property management. Each job taught me something incredible about the real estate industry from a very different perspective.
I had an “ Ah-ha moment one day and realized, that was where my mind was at 12 years old and the purest most passionate version of myself. There are many memories of me visualizing land being developed into residential and commercial properties, renovating homes and spaces, falling in love with architecture, and design. While attending college at the University of North Texas, I had the opportunity to work for a couple of emerging young home builders, a residential & commercial developer, and a few property management companies.
I’m so grateful that I’ve had hands-on experience with the stages of building something from start to finish in regards to homes and apartment communities, as well as learning how to provide excellent customer service and client relationships. While working for different corporations, I desired to obtain getting my real estate license, and take a leap of faith after college and began studying and working under a few brokerages. My journey has been incredible and its custom made for me… and my life. I have not reached all of my goals yet and I have many. Currently, I have been building my own real estate brand, ChicLiving & Co and specifically ChicLiving Rentals. Every one of my jobs in the past has helped develop me to this point. My mission with my companies is to; “match people’s personality, lifestyle, budget, with the Perfect Property.” ChicLiving Rentals is an agency for anyone looking for a rental apartment, condo, townhome, or home. We conduct various seminars and small events to educate renters on how to become homeowners. Being a young entrepreneur is a lot of hard work however, my goal is to be one of the absolute BEST realtors and agencies is not limited to Texas, but internationally.
Has it been a smooth road?
Real Estate has its many challenges, it’s a very competitive industry. A home, land, or commercial property is in most cases the most expensive purchases or investments one can make. To be trusted with the responsibility of not only taking on the job, but to maintain a high level of professionalism, research, and knowledge is truly an honor, yet a lot of pressure. There’s always pressure to become to most knowledgable and to be great in your industry.

My company is ChicLiving & Co is a boutique-style real estate-design agency. Chicliving Rentals is the rental division of the company which keeps me busy these days. Clients who are relocating from another state or simply within the city and are not yet ready to commit to purchasing a home can always contact us to find them a place. We specialize in finding clients places to rent anywhere in Dallas/Forth worth. Each team member is a licensed Realtor and our service is completely free. I am most proud to work with every time of client from college students, relocations, to those who are looking for something very specific, such as a private yard for a child or pet, a certain city view, walkability to a jogging trail, or nearby coffee shop or restaurants. It’s very rewarding being a part of changing someone’s life! Your home is a sacred place and no matter what your budget, style, or area, I take so much pride in finding people new homes! Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas/Fort Worth is statistically one of the top 10 cities for apartment development and the real estate housing market. It’s an amazing city for my industry. For anyone starting out, I recommend being passionate about the industry first and foremost and then strategizing which sector of the industry you want to be in and taking the steps to get professionally licensed.
