Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Healy.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jamie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love for children started at a very age- first with playing family and of course teacher, then leading to babysitting to nanny to working in childcare centers. I followed my love and passion for a child to get my degree in child psychology from TWU. I have always believed my purpose was to be a mom and care for children.
Fast forward – I have three amazing children! Kaylin is 13, Patrick, seven and my spunky Hartley is five.
My husband and I started looking at businesses to buy and we wanted to invest our $, love and time into children. We chose Primrose. We knew it was an exceptional brand because our oldest is a graduate of Primrose.
If you are going to invest in children – truly invest in them with your heart & soul! We were blessed to find Primrose Deerfield! The staff, families, and children have most definitely stolen our hearts!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part was the transfer from the old owner to us- our staff didn’t know what our intentions were or what we were going to come in and change. Thankfully, they trusted us and we are so blessed they are with us!
Please tell us about Primrose school of Plano at Deerfield.
I am a very active and dedicated owner. I’m onsite most days and always available to my families. My staff knows they can come to us for personal or business issues or concerns. We are a family!
I think what makes us unique is the community I have created- parents don’t just pass each other in the halls at pick/drop off or at class birthday parties. I host monthly “night out with ms Jamie” (moms night out) and play dates at play street museum on weekends, my husband and I both coach the soccer team! We host fun family events every month, in addition to “school events”- renting out mall for Santa/Easter visit, pumpkin patch, salad in. Jar events, etc.
Creating a community was key to me! I’ve been a single mom, stay at home mom and a working mom. All can be solitary and my families are involved and enjoying it! Lifelong friendships have been created.
Another secret to our success is our leadership and staff! They love what they do and it shines through the school. You walk in and feel joy and see smiles! Our recipe is simple love for people, be present and everything else just falls into place!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory as a child is lining up my cabbage patch kids and stuffed animals – playing school!
