After being a stay-at-home mom for five years, I began my job search when my youngest daughter started preschool. I secured a receptionist position at a permanent makeup salon and underwent training with my employers after a few months. I dedicated two years to working with this business before deciding to start my own venture. Initially, I rented a small room from the same establishment for a year before moving to a larger suite, where I continue to operate my business today.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been quite a bumpy journey for me as a business owner, and I have encountered several challenges along the way. My main obstacle is maintaining consistency in my social media marketing efforts, leading to minimal or no growth in clientele.
However, with determination and perseverance, I have developed a new strategy to overcome this hurdle. By creating a content calendar and scheduling posts in advance, I am now able to stay organized and ensure a steady stream of engaging content for my audience. Additionally, I have started to engage more with my followers by responding to comments and messages promptly, which has led to increased interaction and interest in my services.
Through these efforts, I am beginning to see positive results as my online presence grows steadily. I have learned that consistency is key in social media marketing, and by staying committed to my strategy, I am confident that I will continue to attract new clients and expand my business further. The journey may have been challenging, but the lessons learned have been invaluable in helping me navigate the ever-changing landscape of digital marketing. I am also dedicating time to educating myself on running a business effectively rather than just owning one.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional permanent makeup artist with expertise in microblading, ombre brows, lip blush, and eyeliner. Additionally, I provide services such as brow lamination and brow tint for those who are not yet ready for permanent makeup brows.
I take pride in my journey in the industry over the past four and a half years, starting as a receptionist at Tinted Beauty, completing their training course, working with them for two years, and now owning my own permanent makeup business. I take the most pride in delivering outstanding services while upholding our commitment to cultivating a positive and inviting atmosphere for our clients.
What distinguishes me from other permanent makeup artists, who are all talented and produce beautiful work, is the quality and consistency of my services. I customize each brow to match my client’s natural brow shape, ensuring a harmonious appearance that enhances their facial features. Moreover, my faith plays a significant role in setting me apart; as a Christian brow artist, I incorporate my beliefs into every aspect of my business.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Wow, this really takes me back! As a child, I was definitely a tomboy – I shied away from anything girly. I was an outgoing and lively little girl who adored dancing, a passion that continued into my adult life. At 13, I dabbled in makeup, trying to embrace a more girly side, but I struggled with it. I settled for just eyeliner and reverted to my tomboy phase until I was 15. Then, I made a major beauty blunder by shaving off my eyebrows and drawing them back on with a pencil – quite a mistake, right? Little did I know that my path would lead to a career centered around eyebrows and all things beauty. My 15-year-old self would be so impressed with where I am today.
