Raja, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My family has been in the tailoring industry for over 50 years. I studied finance at UT and lasted one year as a financial consultant, before going back to my roots to start our first shop which was a 1,000 square foot custom shop. We have grown organically since then and now have 7 shops, 2 unique brands and plan to continue to grow at our own pace.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Operating a business is never a smooth road. Every obstacle possible will try to impede you from attaining your goals. Persistence and focus are the keys to staying on the right path.
Along the way, I have encountered every possible obstacle in the worlds of manufacturing, staffing, construction, government policy, and many many more….
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Q Clothier and Rye 51 – what should we know?
We are a luxury men’s clothing company specializing in custom and casual apparel between our two brands: Q Clothier and Rye 51. We specialize in creating lasting relationships with our clients and making it easy for them to shop (something men typically don’t enjoy).
We were initially known for being one of the premier purveyors of custom clothing in the country, and have since embarked on creating a luxury casual brand, Rye 51 which has been very successful.
The depth of our offering and the experience/expertise of our teams is something that sets us apart in the industry. I am most proud of the amazing team I have been able to assemble along the way. It’s all about the people.
