Meet Ramesh Ghimire of SmallBusinessHelpDFW

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramesh Ghimire.

Hi Ramesh, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started back in Nepal, where I grew up with simple dreams and a lot of determination. When I came to the United States in 2006, I didn’t have much—just hope and the willingness to work hard. Like many immigrants, I did all kinds of jobs to survive, but deep down I always believed that every struggle was preparing me for something bigger.

In 2014, my wife, Newrain, and I opened our first threading salon in Arlington, Texas. It was a small start, but with perseverance, community support, and a lot of learning along the way, we’ve grown into multiple locations across DFW. In 2024, we began franchising Newrain Threading Salon—the first in our Nepali community—because we wanted to give others, especially women, the opportunity to step into entrepreneurship and build their own success stories.

Alongside the salon journey, I discovered another passion—helping small businesses grow. That’s why I started SmallBusinessHelpDFW. I had learned first-hand how powerful the right marketing strategies can be, and I wanted to share that knowledge. Today, I help local businesses with a physical presence—such as dentists, chiropractors, salons, restaurants, gyms, locksmiths, coffee shops, and more—build a stronger online presence, generate more 5-star reviews, and consistently attract new clients. I also work with nonprofits, including churches and schools, to amplify their visibility and community impact. For nonprofits, I often provide my services free or at minimum cost, because I believe in giving back. For small businesses, I make it affordable and results-focused.

At this stage of my life, my mission is bigger than just building businesses—it’s about creating opportunities, supporting communities, and showing others that growth is possible no matter where you start. If you’re a business owner or nonprofit leader reading this, I’d love to offer you a free business audit. I’ll personally review your online presence and give you simple, actionable steps to grow. My hope is that just like me, you can turn small beginnings into something much bigger than you imagined.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first came to the U.S. in 2006, I had no resources, no network, and no clear roadmap—just determination. In those early days, I worked two shifts, sometimes sleeping in my car because it took two hours to drive back and forth to the apartment I was living in. I drove taxis, worked in warehouses, fast food restaurants, and did whatever I could just to make ends meet. Those experiences taught me resilience at a level I never imagined.

Even after opening our first salon in 2014, the challenges didn’t stop. There were days when the salon barely had customers, and nights when my wife and I wondered if we’d made a mistake. Financially, it was a huge risk—we invested everything we had, and I even drove Uber on the side to help pay bills and keep the business alive. Balancing long work hours with family life was another struggle. It wasn’t easy to smile in front of customers when, inside, I was worried about survival.

But looking back, those hardships shaped me. They gave me empathy for every small business owner who feels overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck. They also taught me the value of persistence and how smart marketing can transform a business from struggling to thriving.

That’s why today, I’m passionate about helping others. I know what it feels like to be on the edge, and I don’t want others to spend years in trial and error like I did. Whether it’s through a free business audit, affordable marketing support, or simply sharing my experiences, my mission is to show others that growth and stability are possible—even if the journey starts with sleeping in your car.

As you know, we’re big fans of SmallBusinessHelpDFW. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I run two main ventures that are both close to my heart:

Newrain Threading Salon – founded by my wife, Newrain, and expanded together as a family business. We started with one small salon in Arlington, and today we have multiple locations across DFW with more on the way. What sets us apart is that we’ve become the first Nepali-owned threading salon to franchise in the U.S. But beyond beauty services, our bigger mission is to empower women—especially those from immigrant and underrepresented backgrounds—by giving them the opportunity to become entrepreneurs through our franchise and partnership model. That’s something I’m deeply proud of because it’s more than a business, it’s about creating ownership and independence for others.

SmallBusinessHelpDFW – my digital marketing agency that specializes in helping local businesses grow through Google Business Profile optimization, reputation management, local SEO, and affordable advertising strategies. We’re known for delivering real, measurable results—like helping businesses reach the top 3 positions for their most important keywords in 90 days or less. And if we don’t deliver, we keep working for free until we do.

What sets me apart from other agencies is my personal journey. I’ve been in the shoes of struggling business owners—I know the sleepless nights, the fear of not making payroll, and the frustration of wasting money on ‘marketing’ that doesn’t work. That’s why I built my services to be practical, transparent, and affordable. Every system and process we recommend has already been tested in our own businesses, so when we bring it to clients, it’s proven to deliver results.

We even offer free or minimum-cost audits for nonprofits like churches and schools because we believe in giving back. And for small businesses, every first conversation comes with a complimentary marketing audit. This audit outlines step-by-step strategies to help you appear on Google faster, get more clients, and grow your revenue—whether you choose to work with us or not.

Brand-wise, I’m proud that people associate me with authenticity and service. Whether it’s a salon client or a business owner I’m consulting with, they know I’ll tell them the truth. If I can help you, I’ll show you how. If I can’t, I’ll tell you straight so you don’t waste your time or money.

What I’d love for readers to know is this: your growth is possible. Sometimes it only takes a few small changes in your online presence to completely shift your business. That’s why I offer a free business audit—I’ll review your Google profile, website, and reviews, and give you a clear path forward. If you’re ready to grow, I’d be honored to be part of your journey, just book a discovery call with me by going to my website.(https://rameshghimire.com)

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned on my journey is that struggles are not the end — they are the foundation for growth. In the moments when I was working two shifts, sleeping in my car, or worried if my business would survive, I realized something: those challenges weren’t breaking me, they were shaping me.

I learned that persistence beats perfection. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start—you just need to take the next step, even when it feels impossible. I also discovered the power of community and service. Every time I helped someone else grow, new doors opened for me as well.

That’s why today, I build everything around this principle: if you help others win, you’ll win too. Whether it’s empowering women through our salon franchise or helping local businesses get more visibility through marketing, my focus is on giving. The returns—financial, emotional, and spiritual—always follow.

So my most important lesson is this: never let a difficult season convince you that you’re stuck. With the right guidance and persistence, you can turn obstacles into opportunities. And if you’re a business owner, you don’t have to do it alone—that’s why I offer free audits and support through my site rameshghimire.com, to show others the same lessons that changed my life.
