Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramey Price.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Two years ago, I decided to quit my amazing full-time corporate jobs and take a, what was thought to be at the time, “risk” by changing my career completely and moving to Dallas. I was terrified. I thought if I jump, where am I going to land? Will it be ground and I will feel safe and secure or will it be water and I’ll sink in a bad decision. I had to let go of doubt and forget fear, took a major breathe and took the leap.
For the past year, I’ve had the privilege of being the Group Fitness Manager at Equinox, the leading fitness health club in the world! I’m so honored to have a career with major growth opportunity and have the pleasure of working beside some of the most talented coaches and trainers in the industry!
Has it been a smooth road?
Not going to lie, my first year was very rough. I worked all day every single day at multiple studios and personal trained clients between classes. There were many times that I wanted to throw the towel in because I was struggling financially but I knew I would have regretted stopping. Fitness is my passion and I wanted to follow my dreams. I knew if I just stuck with it, I’d eventually get to where I wanted to be. I got to a point where I wanted consistency because honestly, I crave it so much. I asked myself, out of the places I’ve been working who wants me as much as I want them and who will honestly invest in my personal and professional growth.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Equinox – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I’m the Group Fitness Manager at Equinox Highland Park, Texas. Equinox is a high-performance luxury health club that delivers more than just personal training, group fitness classes, pilates training or Spa services; we deliver an experience. We are 1 out of 104 clubs, recently expanded into luxury hotels and we are still growing as a company. You can go anywhere and workout and take a class but what separates Equinox from everyone else is how we pay attention to the needs of our members and coach them up on movement, regeneration and nutrition tools they can use for the rest of their lives.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas has been so amazing to me. I love how once I think I have it figured out, it surprises me. Dallas is growing and I feel like I moved here at an exciting time.
