Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy Hardy.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up I worked for my dad and uncles in masonry construction so it was only natural that I went into the masonry business. Eventually, my customers started asking me to do other types of work for them. After turning many down I decided that I would teach myself how to do other trades. So, starting with tile work I eventually was able to get into full remodeling work from bathroom and kitchen remodeling to home additions.
Right now it is just myself and my two sons that work at doing these projects and I have a handful of very good contractors for the work that we need help with.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Construction work is always a struggle. It is feast or famine. So trying to have enough work to take care of your family and your men’s families have always been a struggle. But I have found that if your honest and do quality work without cutting corners most clients appreciate that.
Please tell us about Hardy Construction.
We are a small family-owned company that pays attention to details, unlike larger companies. I would say the biggest thing that people comment on besides the quality of our work is the worker’s demeanor and kindness. We respect our customers as well as their belongings. We also have been told that we are some of the cleanest contractors.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I did not have the best childhood but I would say building a treehouse with my best friend.
