Meet Ranneisha Johnson of Beautiful Winkz in Cedar Hill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ranneisha Johnson.

Ranneisha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always had a love for the beauty industry. I am the girl who styles her family and friends, who has always been big on skin care, loves to play in makeup and as a child dreamed of owning a salon one day. For years, I wore the lash strips and individual lash tabs that you purchase at the beauty supply stores. One day, I heard about eyelash extensions and the convenience that they offered and I decided to transition and booked an appointment at a local salon. I enjoyed my experience and in getting to learn more about the product, I immediately saw the potential and saw myself being a lash technician and thinking of all the additional services I could offer my clients.

At the time, the state licensing regulations required a cosmetic, aesthetic or medical license in order to perform lash applications. I knew that it would not be easy being a young mother, working a full-time job and pursuing this dream but I went for it with the support of my family and enrolled in night school at Paul Mitchell School Dallas’ in the Aesthetics program. Eyelash extensions were not a service that was covered in the Aesthetics program at that time, so I invested in my passion and sought training from one of the major lash education programs and got started on my venture. In 2011, I created Beautiful Winkz Lash and Skin Spa. It has gone from being a mobile lash business to a chic and therapeutic boutique. Over the years I have continued to educate myself with new styles, techniques, and services and commit to always seeking growth and doing what I can to be a master at my craft. We have been blessed and we are looking forward to more growth, new experiences and accomplishing bigger goals in the future.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

I am a firm believer that nothing good comes easy and that anything worth having is worth working for. That applies to many situations in life from career to relationships. This entrepreneurial journey has not been a smooth road but it has been a worthy one with many lessons to learn along the way, one of the most persistent obstacles has been finding balance. Being a wife, mother, business owner and full-time employee I wear many hats and have to be in many places mentally and physically. I have found that being patient with myself, leaning on my faith, writing to help stay on track, managing my stress levels by making time for me and creating and then recreating that balance whenever necessary is what helps me to meet the busy needs of life. I often remind myself that I am the creator of my destiny and that it will ultimately be whatever I put into it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Beautiful Winkz – what should we know?
Beautiful Winkz specializes in luxurious lash extensions. We also offer lash lifting and eyebrow services such as microblading. tinting, and waxing. We are known for our beautiful lash application and therapeutic experience, I am most proud of the clients I have maintained over the years. Their loyalty and many referrals say a lot about our service and their experience. I can proudly say that I have not had much of a need to heavily advertise over the years as my wonderful clients and their word of mouth referrals have kept me busy and booked! What sets us apart is the work we put into making our clients feel beautiful and the therapeutic connection that is made in the process.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My loving husband and family also deserve credit for our success as they have supported me since day one. My husband and I started dating not long after my starting Beautiful Winkz, so he has been hand in hand with me through the ups and downs. He has helped me with projects, generating ideas and with keeping our guest candy bowl full.  My family believes in me which means a lot as they trust me and are always the first to lend a helping hand and volunteer when I need models for new services.
