Re, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I actually initially went to college to be a nurse. both my dad and stepmom are nurses and I wanted to be like them. but it didn’t keep my interest, I wasn’t passionate about it. I then started to play around in colors and dying my hair, didn’t like doing hair lol. I picked up a makeup brush and it’s been uphill since! I’m so passionate about enhancing one’s beauty and letting the inside show on the out.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. I was starting to build a clientele in Michigan, where I’m from, then moving to Dallas I had to start all over. Having to put myself out there and meet new people in order to gain clients has been tough. Also sometimes having to do services for free, just so I can have content to post on my IG page. I know it will all pay off.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a freelance Makeup Artist. I specialize in soft glam and natural faces. What sets me apart I believe is that I do good business. I never flake on my clients & I try my best to answer and respond to everyone in a timely fashion. My clients are not just monetary to me, I try to build relationships and have them return again.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Don’t quit. Even when you aren’t getting the results you want or you think nobody is watching, somebody is ALWAYS watching. Stay consistent. keep learning. be teachable, accept criticism but most of all, KEEP LEARNING.
