Meet Reily Renfroe of Origin Chiropractic LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reily Renfroe.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in small town Bristow, Oklahoma. My parents owned a local childcare business that was my mother’s dream. I realized later that watching them own a business would give me the confidence to open my own. While I was in college at the University of Oklahoma, I found myself struggling to find the right fit for my future. It was during this time that I stumbled along chiropractic as a profession. I was fortunate enough to attend an incredible chiropractic conference in Oklahoma City that left me completely obsessed with natural healing and chiropractic care. I immediately started applying to chiropractic schools around the country and decided on Parker University in Dallas. After graduation, I decided to become an Associate in another practice in order to learn and become a skillful practitioner. This is where I was able to reconnect with my passion to serve kids and decided to specialize in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care. After a couple years absorbing everything I could, my wife Laura and I decided to start a family and a chiropractic office at the same time. We searched for the right location and found Princeton, Texas and decided to plant our roots in the community. We have been blessed from the moment we opened our doors in Princeton’s little downtown area and immediately started to make incredible connections in the city. It definitely isn’t easy to start a small business, but it became rewarding very quickly.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would not call small business ownership “smooth.” There were challenges around every corner. We moved to Princeton 2 months after our oldest son was born. So we bought our first house, I left my job, my wife went back to work full time, and I opened my practice all in a matter of 9 months. Building a business while staying home with a baby full time was definitely a challenge (shout out to all of the stay at home moms)!

Princeton also had very little options for commercial space at the time we moved. Through a miraculous series of events, I was introduced to the space that would become the home of Origin Chiropractic for the last 4+ years. It took an incredible amount of hard work putting it all together. Securing funding through the SBA, building connections in the community, getting all of the equipment, designing the space, learning how to run your own practice, and learning how to manage business side of a practice all had steep learning curves. There was a challenge around every corner. However, there is something incredibly special and rewarding about building your own business.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I have a family chiropractic practice that specializes in pediatric and prenatal care. I work with women during pregnancy, children from infancy to adulthood, and their entire families. We focus heavily on the central nervous system and its ability to help the body heal and regulate. We use state of the art iNsight scanning technology that can give us a look inside of how well your brain and body are communicating. This allows us to assess overall neurospinal health and help people of all ages reach their goals without the use of medication or surgery. Our approach to health and the nervous system sets us apart from many in the health field. We are known for our warm and welcoming environment for families and we have been blessed to build an incredible community inside of our office.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I have read many books on multiple topics about how to run a business, chiropractic philosophy, and self improvement. One of my favorite business books is Profit First. One of my favorite mindset and self improvement books is Think and Grow Rich. I also spent a lot of time listening to podcasts when I was commuting for my first position as a chiropractor. I loved the Ed Mylett podcast. I also work with a chiropractic business training group with mentors and colleagues for years. I have taken countless seminars and continue to do so to become a better practitioner every year.
