Meet Réne Girard of Hesed Insurance Solutions in Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Réne Girard.

Réne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Florida and survived many unexpected trials including an incurable fatal disease. My parents were told to move West for a drier climate and they made it as far as Texas.

I grew up and spent most of my life in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I graduated high school as Valedictorian. Was Pre-Med at UTA but discouraged with the system. Graduated from UNT with a degree in Health Promotion and Mathematics. Taught in the public school system. Was a full-time concert promoter. Became a licensed insurance agent in 2004.

Moved to California in 2009. Married a beautiful lady whose father was a stuntman, actor, and bodybuilder. Took care of him until he passed. Helped take care of her mother who recently passed. Moved back into the Metroplex a few months ago.

Entering the insurance industry as a captive agent, I was sent to meet with potential new clients in their homes. I met senior citizens who were set for life, plus others who were retired and barely making ends meet on Social Security. One lady was so broke she was considering eating pet food to survive.

I’ve seen enough to know that if you don’t take care of your health, and you don’t protect your finances, then one day you could be too old, too sick, and too broke to do anything but linger until you die a miserable death.

So when people ask me “What do you do for a living?” I tell them “I’m a protector! I protect people’s health and finances.” And Lord willing I will continue to do that until I die or I’m just too old and senile. Not only with insurance, but with sound financial strategies including alternative investments outside the stock market. Not just locally, but nationally. I currently help men and women from coast to coast. All ages and income brackets.

I’m a small fry laying the foundation for something bigger than I can handle.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road! It is never easy forging your own path. I could easily make more money as a specialist, or as a captive agent, working for someone else rather than myself.

For example: I am boldly serving the Christian community and that is a turn off to many people – including other Christians who think that if you’re open about who you are, and have a desire to help other Christians, then you must be up to no good … even though the exact opposite is true.

The transition from California to Texas has definitely had its challenges. I had a great office in the San Diego area. Moving here I wanted to be centrally located to serve the entire Metroplex, so I arranged a virtual office with Regus at the Bank of America building in North Arlington – which has an incredible view of Six Flags, the Texas Rangers ballpark and the Dallas Cowboys stadium.

I can now meet with clients at any of the Regus office locations in the Metroplex – Dallas, Fort Worth, Southlake, etc.. That’s good. Unfortunately, my wife and I could not find a home in that area to meet our needs or our budget. So I’m living in Grapevine yet feeling unsettled.

It’s never easy being your own boss. It’s not easy keeping up with dozens of companies that are in a perpetual state of change. Obamacare has been a small nightmare! Rarely do you find anyone talking about the impact it has had on agents and their commissions. We get paid as little as $0 for bringing in a new client. Yes – ZERO.

There’s more, although I prefer not to sound like I’m complaining. I really am very thankful to be back in Texas, and for having so many options and opportunities to serve my clients with excellent products and services.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Hesed Insurance Solutions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Hassle-free quotes for Medicare supplements via MedicareOpenEnrollment.com and for regular health insurance via InsureMyParts.com. Other websites ask for personal contact information so they can sell that information to agents who will start calling and emailing and sometimes overwhelming folks in an attempt to make a sale.

I live by the Golden Rule, so my sites are set up so that no one will feel pressured or hassled. Entering a phone number or email is optional, not mandatory. Anyone in the country can run their own free quotes and, with a few products, enroll online.  If someone needs advice or assistance, it is readily available – including a 24/7 message center with a toll-free number answered by real human beings here in the United States.

I’ve teamed up with a national expert to help high net worth individuals acquire multi-million dollar life insurance policies for the cost of much less expensive term life.  And I offer alternative savings vehicles & investments outside of the stock market including some that are so good I’m not allowed to advertise.

I’ve also partnered with CAP (the Christian Non-Political Alternative to AARP) and HBA (the Homeschool Benefits Association) to offer it’s members insurance and financial services. We have some great alternatives to long-term care insurance, including Zero Cost Long Term Care®.

For assets under management, I have a Registered Investment Advisor who studied at Harvard, plus a faith-based Certified Financial Planner for those who want to be sure their investments are not in conflict with their personal beliefs.

I now offer Auto/Home/Business insurance in all 50 states through a referral partner relationship.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In 2018 I will most likely create a new LLC partnership with a nationwide team of CPAs in order to help my clients, and potential new clients, legally reduce their IRS tax burdens and state taxes when applicable. Tax planning, being pro-active, strategically thinking ahead, preparing for the future… it all fits together and having a good team who offer their services at a fair price could help everyone.

An excellent trademark attorney helped me to secure both Self-Serve Insurance® and Self-Service Insurance® – the direction of the entire insurance industry. So in 2018, I plan on leasing Self-Service Insurance® to one or more insurance companies or selling it outright. The name alone speaks volumes, is a valuable asset, and could intuitively become a household name.

Hopefully, I’ll find some like-minded local partners here in the DFW area as well. And a permanent home.

Réne Girard is an exemplary Insurance broker. He helped me to navigate picking a Medigap policy. I found him on the internet, and although I am based in Ohio he was able to find plans that met my particular needs. I was impressed by his knowledge and how he went out of his way to answer my questions and do research as necessary. He gave me the kind of service normally reserved for a family member—he showed great patience in understanding my concerns and addressed them no matter how small. I’m glad to see him receive recognition for the great work he is doing!
