Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Miller.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ricardo. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It is said that the two greatest days are the day you were born and the day you discover why. For more than 20 years, I have been committed to helping people to discover their purpose and maximize their potential. I was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, and relocated to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area in 2000. I’ve gone from being a troubled youth having to educate myself, to speaking in the House of Assembly, to representing the Bahamian government throughout the Caribbean and later establishing one of the fastest children’s program in the elementary school system in the Bahamas.
I have been fortunate to travel to 19 countries, speaking on platforms with audiences of all sizes, to include small workshops, auditoriums and stadiums around the world. I have embraced my gift and call to help humanity discover their why. In 2016, I was fortunate to have my birthday, October 11, be recognized as National Children’s Ministry Day by the Bahamian government, commemorating my 20 years assisting children through faith-based initiatives established in churches around the Bahamas. In 2018, I was honored to be inducted into my high school hall of fame for the distinguished service I provided to those in the Bahamas and around the world. Leaving high school with just an attendance certificate and without getting a college degree, I am now positively helping to change lives around the world.
I have committed myself to help people discover their purpose and utilize various strategies to living their best life now. In the midst of this pandemic, I have intensified my efforts to help people not to allow this global crisis to stagnant them, but to simply reinvent themselves and to capitalize on the various opportunities that are unique and available for all who will embrace them. I believe success is a choice and that someone is assigned to help you. Your ability to learn how to identify those who are called or capable of helping you will determine a lot in the amount of success you will acquire in your lifetime.
I desire for Effective Living Life Management Agency to be a beacon of hope and provide those who are feeling discouraged a sense of meaning, not only during this pandemic but even when this crisis is over. I’m 44 years old and I have recently made a commitment to reaching 10 million people in the next decade with the message you can create a life you don’t need to take a vacation from and I can show you how. My latest best-selling book, Effective Living: Your Guide to Creating a Life You Don’t Need to Take a Vacation From, out of all of my books, is a must a read as I share necessary principles for managing one’s life and living it to the fullest. I whole-heartedly agree with the late Dr. Myles Munroe when he says, “the greatest tragedy in life is not death, but to live without reason.”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road for me. When I came to this country in 2000, I underestimated the time it would take to get my permanent residency, which eventually turned into my citizenship. In the Bahamas, I had an established reputation. Relocating here to the Dallas / Fort Worth area being unknown, proved to be difficult, but I refused to let anything stop me.
Before I got my permanent residency, I decided to wash cars in the apartment complex where I lived to earn income. I hand-washed, on average, ten cars a day at $15 to $20. Once I received my permanent residency, I continued to wash cars in the Texas heat, but also started working at Dollar Tree stocking and serving as a cashier, delivering pizza at night to generate income to take care of my family while simultaneously working to build my platform here in the US. Not having a network of associations to partner with, it took some time to build a reputation here. It was difficult for a number of years, but I made a commitment to progress.
I can remember early on, driving from Dallas to Des Moines to speak at a conference to receive a check for $300, which needed to cover the rental car, hotel, gas, and food, which obviously it did not. However, I felt good because I was making progress as a speaker. Almost 20 years later, I did not throw in the towel because of difficult moments and have been fortunate to travel to almost every state in the US.
Please tell us about Effective Living Life Management Agency.
With the establishment of my newly founded Effective Living Life Management Agency, I provide one-on-one coaching, a series of monthly personal development webinars, and continue to speak on various personal development subject matters to companies, organizations, and ministries around the world. Across my various social media platforms, I teach many principles including, life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you respond. Each weekday morning at 6:30 a.m., I encourage my audience that someone is going to succeed this year. Someone is going to excel in the midst of this global pandemic. The question to ask is, why not you?
Effective Living Life Management Agency is something I’ve felt I was created and purposed to do for more than 25 years now. I’m most proud to be able to have the opportunity to help individuals to the degree where I see success in their lives because of the services we offer. From our daily live videos on social media and monthly webinars, we are receiving countless messages of how the information is transforming people’s lives into a healthy space and people appreciate how they are growing and how they are becoming.
My life management agency’s target is to reach those who have the degree, make good money, bought the home, have the spouse, but feel something is missing; life does not have meaning. Our company’s goal is to help people organize their life in such a way they don’t need to take a vacation from their life, yet are living life to the fullest in every sense of the word.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’ve come to the conclusion, after reviewing my life and identifying my accomplishments so far, that I am the collective support of a lot of incredible people who have come alongside me at different seasons in my life. If I have to highlight one person, it would be my mom, Eunice Miller, who often reminds me to be stronger than I look.
