Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard McMurray.
Like many small business, DFW Crown had humble beginnings. It was while working for a company that specialized in the installation of crown moulding, that Richard found his interest and love for the trade. After being employed by the company for a few years, he decided to start his own company. It was at this time that he contacted his brother-in-law Jonathan. The plan was to form a two-man team which would specialize in architectural moulding installation. Jonathan was interested and the plan worked. To this day the two work together on just about every project. To get things off the ground, DFW Crown participated in the Texas Home & Garden Show in Las Colinas, Texas. They also put out a few advertisements in local home magazines to build a customer base. People loved the work and the company was off the ground. From that point, referrals and repeat clients have been a big part of the company’s usual customers.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a smooth road for us. We stay very busy.

We install architectural mouldings and millwork. We are known for teaching people how to install mouldings on YouTube.
We are proud that we are from Texas, locally owned and operated. We really care about the work, that’s what sets us apart from others.
