Rick, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
With a BFA in Design from UT Austin and working with some of the world’s top brands over the past 30 years, I have learned through trial and error, and a pinch of talent, that my life is surrounded by art in everything that I do. It’s my life-force, and it’s what I live for daily. I love bringing out the best in everyone and everything through design and creativity. The camera allows me to freeze time and capture the moment. I love creative challenges! By seeing the beauty and design in everything, I strive to deliver creative and detailed work every time.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a pretty smooth road for the most part. I broke free of corporate advertising and design 20 years ago and ventured out on my own and formed Zero Gravity Media Group. As a small virtual team, we provide web | print | digital to clients worldwide. Photography has always been interwoven into the design process, so I decided to divide the business into two separate categories. Design + Photography. Like any other business, I’ve had my ups and downs, but that’s been mainly due to economic conditions.

We are a photography business focusing primarily on commercial, fashion, and editorial photography. I take great pride in delivering creative and detailed work every time. The most important part of what I do is making my end client happy and providing timeless images.

My parents! Without the ongoing support and education throughout my whole life, I couldn’t have done it without them. My motto is to surround yourself with greatness. There are numerous creative forces that continue to influence and inspire me on a daily basis.
