Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Jordan.
Robert, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started this business out of the back of my truck. I was forced to subsidize my income after the banking market crashed in 2007. It has grown leaps and bounds since then, In October we will celebrate 10 years in business. We are full service Roofing company on both the commercial and residential side plus new construction.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Owning a business is never easy or smooth road. You run into challenges you never thought would arise. The main thing that we face is cash flow. Many weeks in the first years, I went without a check. I felt like I was working to pay my people and keep them employed. That is still what drives me, I don’t ever want to let them or their family down.
RJ Construction – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a multiple award-winning roofing contractor. We specialize in multiple types of roofing from various forms of commercial roofing to residential roofing. We have great people who take care of our customers and treat them like family. The thing that I am most proud of with this company is the growth and continued success. Some of our finer achievements are the 2016 Golden Hammer Award, and the 2016 GAF Triple Excellence Award.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is un-measurable on a spread sheet or in a bank account. It’s fulfillment of taking care of people in the darkest of days. We look at our job and business like a first res-ponder. We actually like the call at 2:00 am when you have a monster issue. I think it’s that drive and desire to help people and have a happy customer that defines success.
