Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Williams.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Robert. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It started with a challenge for “No Shave! November!” Year after year I would participate and immediately on 12/1 I would cut my beard off because it was so itchy, etc. We’ll this past year 2018 I was introduced to beard grooming products at a local Walmart that eliminates itching, dryness, and softens and shines your beard. After using the product then the entire month and confirming its value I decided to keep my beard and it continued to grow. As it grew so did the love for my beard from family and friends.
After receiving so many compliments I decided to start my own beard grooming produce line that would speak quality, elegance, and luxury. I noticed there were not any beard kits that included everything you needed so I decided to create own and now the world has Roberto D’Vonn Luxury Beard Care products.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As with any start-up it hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting your own business comes with plenty of risk and lessons learned. Identifying a trustworthy lab to make your product and logistics was extremely difficult. I struggled with finding a reputable shipper with reasonable shipping prices. I’m still struggling with Amazon getting the MSDS approved. I’ve literally submitted the form nothing less than 15 times over the past few months.
Please tell us about your business.
My business is Roberto D’Vonn and we provide luxury beard grooming products. Our beard grooming kits are unique because they offer everything you need for your beard care needs. The kits include beard oil, balm, wash, conditioner, shears, brush, and a comb. We’re extremely proud of our company because we set out to aim for the upscale and elite clientele and our brand represents just that.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over I’d do a few things differently. I’d ensure the shipping logistics were ironed out before selling products. A few of my early customers had to wait a few weeks due to shipping delays. I’d also have my ambassadors identified before launching the product. Some the ambassadors I chose I’ve given the product too and then never heard from them again and that affected my bottom line.
