Today we’d like to introduce you to Robin Cook
Hi Robin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I traveled to south of France as a child growing up. I grew to love French simplicity and slow way of living. I started my line of clothing 10 years ago with the same simplicity and effortless style. I only use great fabric cotton, French linen and all natural . I have all my designs hand made here in Dallas and McKinney.
I also use antique French homespun linen from France on my travels twice a year on one of a kind designs . Shirts and pants, dresses very classic/timeless. never trendy.
I have a boutique on the historical square in McKinney Tx. I am the only shop that is underground. The building is a 100 year old bank.. once you find Soho McKinney you won’t want to leave. French Art, furnishings, old linen hand towels soap from Provence books……..
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Expert seamstresses are hard to come by, finding the right Texas town that draws people from all walks of life is key to showing your line to others. Mckinney is a fabulous place to spend the day no vacant space here or off the square. Restaurants shops old and new.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I was a buyer for Scapa of Scotland and was interested in becoming a designer and traveler.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I had to reach more people online than ever before and developed a better approach and website overhaul.
