So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. I grew up in North Texas and my family has always been involved in real estate. I went to New York for college, worked around the area and then moved to Miami where I went to law school. I eventually returned to Dallas because I love the people and Texas freedoms. I opened my own practice full time last year with the primary focus on real estate and business law. My firm offers clients long term advice and long-term relationships. Even reviewing simple contracts provides my clients with a peace of mind that is well worth the cost.
With real estate, I enjoy structuring the investment and the overall budget that comes with planning a new venture. I bring years of small business experience and I am confident that we can solve my clients most difficult problems. I relate to clients with their needs as a small business owner and I have an understanding for their challenges and worries that come along with regulation and liability risks. I do everything in my power to be a good attorney, but at the end of the day I value the faith and confidence entrusted in me by each client.
A recent area of practice is cryptocurrency and its impact on all aspects of business. I feel that I have a practical knowledge of this technology through my experience designing and building a small-scale GPU mining setup. I am learning more on how to integrate this technology into existing businesses.
Has it been a smooth road? I have been very fortunate to have some large clients support me in the beginning of my journey. I think that referrals are very important and they have helped me grow my business. Probably the hardest part of my job is balancing time between work and my family. I’m grateful to have a strong support system at home and I really enjoy my job so it definitely makes things easier when I am faced with struggles in my business. Like many other businesses, I have different types of challenges like marketing costs or cash flow, but I have always enjoyed the changes these decisions can bring into my day-to-day decision making and I believe it helps me to relate better to my clients and their needs. I feel these obstacles have helped build my confidence and have helped me grow my business.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Law Office of Ronald Rohde story. Tell us more about the business. I feel I have worked very hard to leverage technology and to provide the best legal service for value. It frees up my time to focus on the business of my clients and their goals in a given situation. I am always looking for new business ideas and am open to educating myself and learning new processes as they are introduced.
I am able to rely on my involvement as an investor in the DFW real estate market to provide advice and guidance on the decisions necessary to invest in real estate. My experience in new construction also led to a niche focus on bank document review. third party construction management, draw schedules, and loan agreement document review.
My personal interest in the technology behind cryptocurrencies has led me to discover the numerous uses and applications for everyday businesses. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and blockchain have the potentional to change the digital payments and value systems across the globe.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade? I think in the future there will be many changes to my industry. Machine learning and artificial intelligence are going to have a huge impact on the way every firm is run and it might be a huge disruption. Machine Learning has recently tested better than 99% of lawyers at issue spotting in standardized contracts. These technologies will reduce lawyer time and cost devoted to routine tasks and free them to learn more about the unique needs and nuances of their client’s business. Personally, I would be able to focus more on my clients and offer creative solutions and really understand the personal goals of my clients. I believe this will ultimately create more opportunities for lawyers and I am excited to see what the future can bring.
