Today we’d like to introduce you to Roque Solo.
Roque, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
2nd generation in the print business, I was always intrigued by the work my dad did. The smell of paper and ink, the process of printing was something I grew up with. Went to school, took some courses in graphic design, did some freelance and finally landed at DFW Airport where I worked in the in-plant shop for 6 years. That’s where under the guidance of an excellent team that graphic design and print go hand in hand. I learned so much from both sides of the equation, Design & Print go hand in hand. After I left DFW Airport I bounced around for about 6 months when I decided to open my own place and here we are a year later.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Many, many struggles. But the main struggle is making it through the first year in general.
Oak Cliff Print – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We’re a small mom and pop shop like a little boutique print shop. We offer full service printing and shipping. From simple business cards to elaborate invitations.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Having a 5 star rating across the board, from Facebook, google, yelp and the rest! That in itself is not an easy accomplishment.
