Meet Rosa Lackey of R.L. Craft Vinyl in Grand Prairie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosa Lackey.

Rosa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been a crafter and a DIY kind of person. Finding the balance between being a stay at home mom and entrepreneur was a very difficult thing for me. The connection happened when my youngest started school. Back in 2016, I joined PTA and volunteering and the creative person inside connected me to different projects and ideas!

A few of them consisted of making signs and shirts using vinyl, it was frustrating to see the lack of vinyl product availability locally. So that’s what sparked it for me, it was a no brainer! I had to open a shop all about vinyl and heat transfer vinyl.

My 2 sons are my motivation and the reason I want to be the best of what I do, I want to specially say thank you to my mom and to my closest friend for all the support.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been an up and down journey, especially in the beginning and sometimes the pressure of high expectations can bring you closer and/or further from your original idea but I have a passion for what I do. I have always believed in my dream and I’m so thankful! The support has been amazing and I am currently working on a new project, on a vision of mine, it’s R.L. Studio. It will be a place where my fellow crafters can host, teach and express their craft skills.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with R.L. Craft Vinyl – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in permanent vinyl and heat transfer vinyl (HTV). We love options! We offer lots of different colors, patterns and textures!

I’m extremely proud of what we do, customer service and quality are very important for us. We want every customer to come in and find not only what they need but also have any questions answered. Whether it’s placement or helpful tips and tricks, we want to make sure they leave confident in what they purchase and comfortable knowing they can’t count on us.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Grand Prairie is growing and I’m very happy with the focus on areas like entertainment, retail and housing opportunities.

Traffic is one thing I don’t enjoy but I understand is part of the construction/changes in our area.
