Meet Rosalind Bryant of Helping Hands, Open Hearts in Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosalind Bryant.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started feeding the homeless as a family hobby at the age of eight. HHOH (Helping Hands, Open Hearts) became an official nonprofit in 2012.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As with anything in life, there are high and low moments. The benefit of serving at the end of the day is knowing that you have helped someone along the way of your journey.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Helping Hands, Open Hearts – what should we know?
Helping Hands, Open Hearts’ primary focus is the homeless community of DFW. We provide food, clothing, and hygiene monthly at Salvation Army. We also provide those same things quarterly at Tent City. In addition to that, we help in-need families throughout the year with several services such as our Annual Back to School Giveaway, Annual Thanksgiving Dinners for the elderly and our Annual Christmas Wishes program.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
HHOH’s founder is Rosalind Bryant, but she doesn’t do it alone. There is a dedicated team of volunteers as well as sponsors who get the job done. There’s a lot of moving parts to community service, so we work together as a team.
