Today we’d like to introduce you to Roth Hinkle.
Hi Roth, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grew up immersed in dentistry. My father was a general dentist, so I spent many summers working in his practice. By age 14 I already had my x-ray and polishing license, so I’ve known for as long as I can remember that dentistry was going to be my path. Even as a teenager and college student, I participated in mission trips to provide dental care to people who otherwise didn’t have access — which really shaped my commitment to service and community care.
I went on to attend Baylor University through the elite “Dual Degree Advanced Placement Program,” which admitted only four students each year, before beginning college. I graduated with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Spanish, with honors.
At Baylor College of Dentistry, I was honored with the General Dentistry Program Award, reserved for the top clinical students in my class.
After graduating in 2008, I worked in private practices where I focused on restorative dentistry, sedation dentistry, endodontics, dental sleep medicine, oral surgery, implant placement and restoration. Since then, I’ve continued expanding my education — attending continuing-education courses and study clubs to stay at the leading edge of dental techniques.
I knew I wanted to build a practice rooted in integrity, conservative dentistry, and truly listening to patients. When I opened Hinkle Family Dental here in Southlake, my goal was to provide excellent clinical care in a joyful, comfortable environment where every patient felt respected and understood.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In fact, it took sixteen years of prayer, patience, and perseverance before I found the right dental practice to purchase. I’ve always believed in waiting for the right opportunity rather than forcing the wrong one, but that kind of waiting isn’t easy.
Looking back, though, that waiting shaped me. It strengthened my faith, sharpened my vision for the kind of practice I wanted to lead, and reminded me that the right opportunity is worth waiting for. When Hinkle Family Dental finally came together, it was clear why the journey took as long as it did — it allowed me to step into a practice that aligned perfectly with my values and the way I want to serve people.

I provide comprehensive, patient-focused dental care — everything from routine checkups and cleanings to advanced restorative work and surgical procedures. At Hinkle Family Dental, we specialize in restorative dentistry, sedation dentistry, endodontics, implant placement and restoration, oral surgery, and dental sleep medicine.
I’m known for combining clinical excellence with a gentle, compassionate approach. We use state-of-the-art technology including digital radiography, intraoral scanning, 3D X-rays and even 3D printing to ensure precision, efficiency, and a more comfortable experience for patients.
What I’m most proud of is building a dental practice that isn’t just about teeth, but about people. I’ve built Hinkle Family Dental on values of integrity, transparency, and compassion. I treat patients like family, take time to explain their care, and always prioritize what’s best for them.
I’m also deeply committed to the community. Instead of focusing heavily on traditional advertising, we intentionally use much of our marketing budget to give back to local nonprofits and organizations making a meaningful impact. It’s important to me that our practice reflects generosity, service, and a genuine desire to strengthen the community we’re part of.

I would love readers to know that at Hinkle Family Dental, we are more than just a dental practice; we are a family, and our patients are part of that family too.
