Meet Rothstein of Silence is Gold

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rothstein.

Rothstein, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been around the city of Dallas for years doing street teamwork and promotions for clubs and local artists.  I moved to Los Angeles to work as an intern for Capital records for a year. I learned from those experiences on how to be an entrepreneur and began focusing more on myself and my brand, my first line was called Curfew.  Curfew did not get much attention so I took some time to rebrand.  With the failure of Curfew I came up with Silence is Gold. Silence is Gold started to pickup more once Dj Bay Bay showed love by wearing one of my sweatsuits and also when I released my fashion tactical vest.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a challenge like anything else in life. You have ups and downs, some days you feel amazingly high and other days, I want to throw in the towel. Coming out of Dallas, is not the easiest, more like a popularity contest and/or who you know.  I have learned to make waves by putting myself on the scene. Having a dope line is not enough, so, I travel and do vendor events.  Having something that’s fresh and unfamiliar to a consumer has been a real challenge but I am up for it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Silence is Gold – what should we know?
Silence is Gold is a company where we do everything from clothes, media, and manage artist like, Lord Simmy who is next out of Dallas. I have been working on interviews with noteworthy artist from Compton known as Azjah which just recently signed a deal with Empire and is currently on tour with Mozzy.  I am most proud of just being, to see the progress pay off, my motto is slow motion is better than no motion. What sets me apart is, I’m never going to quit till I get what I want from this.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I get support from my dad, mother, sister, a special lady in my life and loyal customers.  My greatest reward and teacher has come from my mistakes and blowing cash on ventures that didn’t work. Basically, trials and errors of running a business has been a beautiful struggle.
