Meet Ruth Marquez of TheOne Millionaire’s Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruth Marquez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ruth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
You’ve heard it before, “Is not what happens to you in life, but what you do with those experiences that matter.” You can allow your bad experiences to turn you into a perpetual victim or use them to propel you to heights you thought could never be possible. Heights that would not only transform your life but the lives of hundreds, thousands and possibly millions of other people as well. This is the story of my love life and career. It gave birth to my mission and my business to help 1 million people find love.

My experience with horrible relationships started way before I became an adult. I’m sure a lot of women who have become victims of domestic abuse can attest to this. However, had it not been for those experiences, I wouldn’t have been able to become the successful Entrepreneur, Matchmaker, Dating Coach, Podcast Host, TV Producer and TV Show Host that I am today.

It started at the tender age of 15, I fell for a boy who lied to me, got me pregnant and wanted nothing to do with me after that. At 16, I was already a single mom. At 17, I ran away with some guy, I barely knew, because I was trying to escape the religious sect I was brought up in. The guy almost killed me. At 19, I met a guy who got me pregnant once more and used me as his personal punching bag. This pattern of toxic relationships continued until I was well into my early 30s.

Like many women who have been through horrific relationships, I thought to myself, “Why is this happening to me? I’m a good person. I try to be a good partner. I’m not a cheater or a liar. Why do I keep going from one awful relationship to another?” I remember clearly the day my love life changed forever. I was breaking up, yet again, with another loser. In my despair, as I cried and contemplated my situation, something inside of me awoke. I realized that the only common denominator in these relationships was me and that I needed to love myself first. This revelation was the catalyst that would pivot my life in such a way that I not only changed my own love life but would later help hundreds of people do the same.

My experience as a domestic violence and toxic relationship survivor gave way for my purpose in life. I gained serious introspection, relationship experience, knowledge of human behavior and what I call intuition superpowers from them. I can relate to my clients in ways that not many people can. I now use those experiences to help people make better decisions in their love lives. As a successful Dating Coach, I help women and men see in themselves the habits and beliefs they hold that attract abusive people and the wrong partners. As a Matchmaker, I use my knowledge of human behavior, intuition and ability to read people, to make the right choices for my clients. Having been a victim of domestic violence has made me clairvoyant and so good at reading people that it’s almost scary. My friends call me a witch. I always joke that I can spot a toxic person walking down the next block, during Mardi Gras, in a rainstorm with thunder and lightning on a foggy night. As the podcast creator and host of Dating Truth with Aunt Ruth, I bring different people together to help my listeners get over many of the barriers that are in the way of them finding love. As a TV Producer and Host, I’ve created an innovative venue where local professional successful singles can feature themselves and be seen by other local professional singles as well.

I am now happily married to the love of my life. He’s an amazing gentleman who’s always there cheering me on and supporting my dreams.

I’m also producing and hosting a dating TV show called The Raw Draw where Dallas Fort Worth (and surrounding area) singles will get an opportunity to be featured on TV and matched with professional high-quality candidates like themselves.

My experience as a victim of domestic violence turned successful Entrepreneur, Matchmaker, Dating Coach, Podcast Host, TV Producer and Show Host taught me the most important lesson in life, I now use it as my philosophy and tag line…Love starts with you.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Raised in the streets of North Philadelphia where drugs and violence were natural everyday occurrences, was not easy. Not only did this lifestyle warped my definition of what a real man was, it made it quite a struggle for me to become an entrepreneur. You see, I was never taught any entrepreneurial or money management skills. The only path that was laid out for me was getting pregnant so that I can get a government check. I was never encouraged to study and make “something” of myself. But there was always this powerful voice inside of me calling me to more. People called me crazy. They asked me how I could possibly dream of more when I was a young single mom with no education and poor.

Every negative comment people made about me made me continue saying, “watch me!” My first step was a welfare to work program that helped me gain administrative skills. I worked as a secretary for a while, but that wasn’t enough. So, then I went to college and majored in Early Childhood Education. As amazing as being a teacher was, I still dreamed of bigger things. I knew my purpose was even higher. I wanted to really impact people’s lives in a meaningful, life-changing way (by the way, Teachers do this every day). I noticed how people always came to me for relationship advise and I was always hooking my friend up on dates. I was amazing at it and I loved it so much. I could spend hours looking at profiles and talking to them about their love lives. I even taught a class on loving men. So began my career as a Matchmaker and Dating Coach.

Please tell us about TheOne Millionaire’s Club.
TheOne Millionaire’s Club is a Matchmaking and Date Coaching business that helps affluent and professional people find love every day. We understand how frustrating scrolling through profiles and going on bad date after bad date can be and we listened. Successful people do not have time to play around on dating apps for hours. We listened to the frustration of online daters. We listened to every “cat fishing”, “ghosting”, “broken picker” and previous toxic relationship story every single person we came across had. And, I built a business to tackle and solve all those issues. Imagine the impact a Matchmaking and Date Coaching business, built by a relationship expert/ex online dater/Professional Matchmaker has on the dating world.

One of the things that we are most proud of is bringing local DFW daters an opportunity to really be seen by other singles through The Raw Draw dating show. Singles will be featured on the show as well as matched. We thought it was a fantastic way to get our local professional successful singles out of the sea of daters on the apps and put them in the limelight. Having a dating show where are clients can be seen by other available singles in the area is what sets us apart from other matchmaking businesses. The next step is to build a groundbreaking online dating site like you have never seen. But you have to wait till 2021 for that.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband, Eddie Marquez, deserves tons of credit. He is my biggest cheerleader. Every crazy idea I run pass him he endorses and encourages it. He never looks at me with a “that’s impossible” face. My Mother-In-Law Migdalia for hearing me out, believing in me and being the mom I always wished I had. My son, Devin, has been a huge help with The Raw Draw Dating TV show. He came up with the name, idea for the logo, and is now working on the intro music for the show. Zondra Evans owner of the award-winning ZondraTV Network. She gave me the opportunity and encouragement to produce and host The Raw Draw. ZTV also has created a system to ensure their producers’ are successful in building their shows. Julia Armet, a great mentor and friend, for giving me a job as a professional matchmaker and held workshops for us every week. She trained us to be more than just matchmakers. And finally my dogs Bella and Lil’Bit who help distract me when I’ve been rotting on my office chair for 12 hours straight.
