Ryan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Established in 2005. Energy Attic is an Award Winning green energy company serving both residential and commercial clients in and around the Dallas / Fort Worth area. We use a three-part Energy Reduction System to make your home or office as energy efficient as possible, saving you money on heating & cooling costs and reducing your carbon footprint. The system combines a Radiant Barrier, Attic Insulation, and Proper Ventilation to make a complete system that will reduce your year-round energy costs. We also offer free energy efficiency audits and estimates to see which components of the ERS System will be needed to make your indoor climate as comfortable and cost effective as possible.
Our approach is simple: Do what is right…Love people…and Work Humbly. By sticking to this mantra throughout the last 12 years, we have established a reputation of taking care of each customer, one at a time, no matter the cost. By doing what we say, we have created an army of loyal, raging fans! Our goal is to win others through relationships…and we know that the business will be successful as a result.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road is never smooth…in fact, it’s bumpy AND narrow. In our industry, it’s easy to cut corners. It’s often times difficult to compete and “get ahead” – unless that isn’t your main priority. We believe we have been put in a position to help people – to truly engage with our customers, our vendors, and our employees. While it’s not always easy to do the right thing and love people, we don’t really see it as a choice, however narrow that road seems sometimes! And as a result, we have seen our business grow and thrive.
If you look at each job as a profit opportunity, you will be tempted to do anything possible to make a profit. However, we look at each job as an opportunity to build a business – a generational business. You may not make a profit every day with this outlook – but slow and steady, you will win people and grow an influential, year-round business that will sustain and thrive on the relationships that have been built.
Please tell us about Energy Attic.
We are experts in one thing – the Attic. If you control your attic, you can re-gain control of your home – both comfort and utility costs.
Radiant barrier, insulation, and ventilation are the 3 areas that need to be addressed in order to control your attic space. We have become experts in these areas. We will create a custom plan for each home, to change the comfort of the home for good.
We are known for results, and customer satisfaction. Our jobs are not just jobs…they are a customer experience. We are not satisfied with 4 star reviews…so we’ll do anything in our power to make sure every home gets 5 star treatment. Does that mean we don’t make mistakes – absolutely not! Mistakes are an opportunity. With mistakes come a chance to problem solve – and make sure everyone involved is communicated with, and prioritized. With mistakes come a chance to really make someone feel special – even, or especially, in the midst of chaos.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’m grateful for the mistakes and bumps we have had along the way. New offices, new employees, broken equipment, customers who don’t do what they say….it’s all a learning experience. We are who we are today because of the decisions we have made. I wouldn’t change any of it, lest we would be unwise and hasty.
