Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Tarron.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ryan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Shortly before I was going to ship out and dive headfirst in the special FX and makeup industry, my brother Danny Tarron asked me if I would like to begin tattooing under his wing. I got my start exactly where he did, at a small tattoo shop in North Richland Hills, Texas. During the challenges of becoming a proficient tattooer, I was also learning the back-end and how a tattoo shop really works, and also how to boost the popularity of the business, mainly because of the lack there-of where we worked. To sum it up, some of my loyal clientele wanted me to pitch them a studio because of my constant talks about it, I assembled the perfect business plan, pitched it, and months later became the owner of my very first business, Symmetry 6 Fine Art Studio. Now, after many learning lessons, my business is thriving and growing in year five.
Has it been a smooth road?
The struggles of running a tattoo shop? There are too many to list, but the biggest is being a perfectionist. For me, I did not start S6 with an unlimited amount of funding to make it perfect off the bat. Throughout the years I sunk every penny I had to build and to better suit a higher standard of clientele (this is to reflect our award winning/5-Star presence). After around 25-30,000 dollars later I was content. Don’t let me fool you, there are many up’s and down’s on a weekly basis, mainly dealing with wanting more of a corporate structure with rockstar mentalities. With what we do and the standards we have in tattooing, it has been very difficult to keep a solid staff apart from 4 of my tattooers. With two newly hired artists, I hope to have found my power rangers I can play Zordon with.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
Symmetry 6 Fine Art Studio has maintained a 5-star rating on every platform available to the public, I’m proud to keep my studios report after all these years and too many feeble tattooers. I recently have made my exit from tattooing to pursue my many other endeavors. Once I felt validated as a tattooer, I felt it was my purpose to excel in other fields of interest. I instilled my trust in my senior employee to run the day to day of Symmetry 6 & I have been working around the clock for two years on several projects. A reality show based around my family’s “competing tattoo studio’s” dubbed Family ink, planning & pitching a 40,000 sqft venue called the Power Plant Pavilion & lastly, the EWA or Elite Wrestling Association, a nostalgic wrestling company that further blurs the line of cinematic elements and live wrestling (set to debut in December).
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Fort Worth is a fantastic place to set up shop for your business. With the restoration and boom of our downtown areas & the boom of North Texas’ development, if you’re business has what it takes, it will thrive. The city is easy to work with, particularly fast and awesome customer service, have never had an issue.
