Meet Ryung Cho of Damasita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryung Cho.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ryung. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
To begin, I was the owner of Seoul Garden and that served as my introduction to the restaurant industry. After working in this Royal Ln area in Dallas, Texas for many years, I was able to familiarize myself with the environment and thus strengthen my productivity in this industry. After taking over Damasita, which was formerly a small sushi restaurant, I renovated it to create a lighter and more contemporary environment. Currently, I am conducting business with my staff and looking towards just creating a place for people to come in and enjoy authentic Korean food at its finest.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it’s impossible to drive down a smooth road when conducting your own business. I had to deal with sudden changes within my staff and had to accommodate accordingly. The biggest struggle which I am currently encountering is the unexpected pandemic brought by COVID-19. Damasita will continue to bring consistent quality for our customers.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Damasita – what should we know?
We are known for bringing authentic Korean food to the table. We take pride in our quality and hospitality for everyone and anyone.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The number one characteristic important to me and our success is persistence. Regardless of the struggles that we encountered, we did not give up once. We continued to find what we could do best over complaining or trying to find excuses.
