Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabino Sotelo.
Sabino a.k.a. “The Cigar Roller” has been rolling premium Cuban style cigars in the Dallas/Forth Worth area since 1999. A friend invited Sabino to Costa Rica on vacation and while on vacation, stumbled upon a brand new cigar rolling school. On a whim, Sabino decided to enroll and learn the art of cigar rolling. In order to fine-tune his craft, Sabino hired the oldest and original Cuban cigar roller in Texas. He taught Sabino how to become a master in the art of Cuban cigar rolling.
Cigar Butler
Cigar Butler was established by Sabino in order to provide multiple services to his clients. Cigar butler offers premium hand-rolled cigars, Cuban style cigar rolling demonstrations at events, custom logo cigars, cigar ambassadors, cigar bars, cigar rolling classes, custom cigar labels, and a mobile cigar lounge.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
At first, it was hard getting customers to realize the difference between store-bought cigars vs fresh hand-rolled cigars. Finding the right price structure was a struggle. As someone new to the industry finding an identity was difficult.
Fortunately, one day, I received a phone call from a young lady wanting cigars for her wedding. Her last name was Pearson and wanted to have cigars at the wedding since her dad loved cigars. I booked the event and when I was rolling cigars, I noticed several cowboys football players I recognized. I did not know her father was none other than the original number 88 – Drew Pearson. The wedding was published in D Magazine and like they say the rest is now history.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Cigar Butler – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Cigar rolling demonstrations:
Add a touch of class to your special event by having a cigar roller demonstrate the art of cigar rolling to your guests. Cigar Butler provides your guests with a unique cigar experience they will never forget. Cigar Butler specializes in weddings, golf tournaments, corporate and private events.
Sabino’s biggest event was Super Bowl XLV. Other large events include NCAA final four and several other large sporting events. He has also rolled cigars for some of the largest and celebrity-filled weddings and events.
While wedding is his biggest clientele, his cigar rolling services have been enjoyed by VIP guests at golf tournaments such as The Byron Nelson, Colonial and several corporate and private golf tournaments.
Proudest moment was our very first wedding – Drew Pearson’s daughter.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
