Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Harrison.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sabrina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I didn’t always have a plan. My husband has known exactly what he wanted to do with his entire life since high school… I, on the other hand, had no idea. I had a lot of passion but little clarity as to how I could be effective in the marketplace.
So, I prayed, worked diligently, and sought out guidance from those I admired and respected. During my last semester in nursing school (after completing all of my clinical rotations), I decided to change my major. I felt as though I had disappointed my entire family, but I began to pursue business and graduated with a Bachelor of International Business from UT Arlington. Shortly after my undergrad, I continued my studies to pursue a master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M International University. In one moment, my life changed forever for the best — although, at the time, it didn’t appear that way.
Seven years ago, I was single with no kids, living in Laredo, and teaching entrepreneurship classes at a local school, wondering if I would ever get married. I had no idea that I would meet the man of my dreams on a weekend trip to Dallas, end up moving to Dallas shortly after, and completely switch careers. I worked in the Educational Technology Industry, and then took a leap of faith to start helping my husband as he set out to expand MINT dentistry and completely revolutionize the dental experience. MINT currently has 35 locations throughout DFW and Houston and is one of the fastest growing dental companies in the United States.
I prayed every step of the way, asking for wisdom, discernment, and passion to purse everything God had for me. I had no idea that everything I had ever been through and overcome would be part of my destiny. Nothing was wasted, and God’s plans were better than my dreams. Sometimes, I feel like I just stumbled upon everything good in my life. I don’t think I was more qualified or smarter than others. I had experience, a lot of faith, and I enjoyed serving others — so when I happened to be at the right place at the right time, simply being prepared was all I needed. I would always do whatever I could to help those around me, and in the process, I discovered myself.
I have come to realize that until we do all the little things with excellence, we will never find out who we are and be able to do the greater things God has called us to do. Something supernatural happens when you commit your life and business to Christ, and when you truly live for Him. It’s not about my success or MINT’s success—it’s all about Him.
Has it been a smooth road?
Success appears to be a lot more glamorous than it really is. It takes hard work, consistency and a lot of dedication and discipline to keep growing what God has given you to steward well. I’ve learned a lot through my journey. It’s important to keep evolving and learning, and always, always stay humble. A few things I’ve learned along the way…
Problem-solving. The more success you build, the more problems you will have. Success is about problem-solving. Never avoid problems or the turbulence you are bound to encounter. People who whine about problems instead of finding ways to get through them are not ready for entrepreneurship. Growth requires solutions.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Growth hurts. If you’re growing, you will always be out of your comfort zone.
Success never feels like you expect it to feel. Hone your problem-solving skills. Find power in the process. Always make room to grow. Take risks, persevere through problems, work hard, and keep learning. You are never wasting your time when you are sharpening your skills.
Serve well. You represent God in the way you operate and the way you treat customers and employees. As an entrepreneur, you manage your own time, money, vision, and passion.
Stewardship. Keep God first. Success, work, and even your marriage and children should never get more of your attention and devotion that God does.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with MINT dentistry – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am the Co-Owner of MINT dentistry, and we have 35 locations throughout the DFW metroplex and Houston. We are modern dentistry at its finest and we specialize in making SEXY Teeth through general and cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, veneers, and smile makeovers.
MINT has revolutionized the dental industry. We are known as a “top of the line” luxury dental company that offers its patients an incredible experience with dentists who work as a team, high quality for extraordinary prices, and an insurance department that handles everything. Plus, MINT offers amazing payment plans and industry changing techniques. We hire only the most talented dentists and then train them to MINT’s high standards. My husband is the Founder and CEO of MINT dentistry and an awarded cosmetic dentist who invented a cosmetic tooth lengthening procedure. We have the absolute best staff in dentistry. We support dozens of charities and local organizations, but we are most proud of our reputation with our clients. We truly love to serve our patients.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas is amazing. I love how beautiful it is, and I love the people here. We have incredible restaurants, phenomenal shopping, and so many sporting events to attend with the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, and FC Dallas. We enjoy affordable housing, a great job market, and a great city full of things to experience. We have some of the best churches in the world, including my church, The Potters House, led by Bishop T.D. Jakes, who is commonly referred to as “America’s Best Preacher” (and my favorite preacher in the world). The more I travel, the more I appreciate our central location. It’s so easy to travel anywhere in the United States. Dallas is a melting pot of cultures, backgrounds, and lifestyles, with so much to do, and so much to see. I love our city!
