Today we’d like to introduce you to Sacheen Mehta.
Sacheen, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine and physical therapy practice in September of 2001. By providing exceptional service and going above and beyond norms (providing very personal attention to each patient), I was able to build a busy, successful practice in a short period of time. I spent many hours visiting and introducing myself to other physicians, made myself easily and readily available at all times, and ran a very efficient office together with an all-star staff.
We grew from a small office near the old Richardson hospital building to a much larger office near Campbell and Waterview. We have since added another physician and then another office dedicated exclusively to providing exceptional physical therapy services to our patients. We now offer onsite Xray, casting, bracing, ultrasound-guided injections in addition to physical therapy and the doctors’ office.
We specialize in hip & knee replacements and sports medicine. I have been the team physician for Sachse High School and Wylie East High School for many years.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We faced many challenges along the way including the difficulties of maintaining excellent customer service and seamless operations while moving and expanding several times. Additionally, the challenge of acquiring and maintaining dedicated staff is always an ongoing challenge. However, we now have several loyal staff who have exceeded 10 years of service with the company.
Comprehensive Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We take pride in the family-like welcoming atmosphere that we foster. Our staff takes pride in exceptional service and our patient’s love that.
We provided expertise in orthopaedics, including both nonsurgical and surgical options. Our goal is to help people achieve and maintain active lifestyles.
We pioneered quick recovery, MRI-guided, custom-fit knee replacements in 2007 and many patients continue to benefit from that technology today.
We also provide state-of-the-art hip replacements, ACL reconstructions, knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy and rotator cuff repairs, carpal tunnel release, fracture care and much more.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Helping patients who can barely walk due to severe hip or knee arthritis regain their ability to live a decent quality of life is a proud moment we experience almost daily.
As just one example, we took care of an elderly lady who could barely get out of her house due to crippling knee arthritis. We replaced both of her knees and now she travels the world. These are our proud moments and it’s why we love what we do.
