Today we’d like to introduce you to Sade Page.
Sade, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started doing makeup by watching YouTube channels back in 2009. I was starting to get good at applying individual eyelash tabbing so I decided to enroll at Ogle School of Hair Skin and Nails mockingbird location in the esthics program. During this time I found out I was pregnant with my fourth child I still continued to go, I went at night because my kid’s father worked during the day so we alternated keeping them. I graduated from the program with a 3.8.
After I had my daughter I started working in a shop my older sister styled natural hair at. I did that on and off while trying to work different jobs because I needed more income with four mouths to feed. 2012 is when I branched off by myself and started my business Shadowed by Sade I was building my business from the ground up and everything was going good. I then found out I was pregnant with my last child in 2014 so things slowed down a lot. I had him in August of 2015 went through a rough time I had to raise him alone because shortly after his dad got incarcerated. In 2017 things started picking back up and I haven’t stopped yet! My goal is to own a shop and have a few things on a cosmetic line.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, I had pregnancies which slowed me down and I even dealt with depression and anxiety after my last pregnancy.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Well, my company name is Shadowed by Sade and I specialize in applying makeup in a professional way. I’m most not for giving a natural beat a lot of my clients love that I don’t make them look like a totally different person but I enhance the beauty they already possess. I’m most proud of the fact that I help women gain confidence and I’ve helped with a lot of fashion shows and less fortunate girls go to prom. I can help my clients achieve any look that they desire.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, our city is definitely somewhere great to start a business there is enough money for everyone. The only thing I can say is that Dallas is more focused on popularity than skill in general if we can come out of that then we would get so far as a city in whole.
