Hi Sadik, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Istanbul, Turkey, a city filled with beauty and culture. From a young age, I loved to design jewelry, dreaming of sharing my creations with others. After moving to New York City, I often visited my family in Texas and felt a strong connection to the state. It felt like home to me.
Twenty three years ago, I opened Another Time & Place in The Shops at Legacy. I chose Plano because I wanted to bring a taste of my culture to a place that didn’t have much of it. I believed that people would appreciate the colors and stories behind my designs.
At my store, you’ll find beautiful light fixtures and unique jewelry, all crafted with care. Many of these items are made by my family back in Istanbul. When I create something special, I start by sketching my ideas on paper and then share them with my brother to bring them to life.
I focus mostly on wholesale, but I love seeing customers walk into my showroom. Their eyes light up as they discover the vibrant colors and unique pieces. It brings me joy to see people captivated by my work, sometimes even forgetting I’m there.
Another Time & Place is more than just a store; it’s a space filled with love, culture, and creativity. Every time someone leaves with a piece of my art, I feel grateful for the chance to share a little piece of my heart with them.
