Sally, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
About two years ago, I made the hard decision to leave the corporate world in order to be home with my two little ones. Never in a million years did I imagine opening up a small business!
I have always been a Pinterest enthusiast, and after moving into our new home, I started experimenting with different projects so that we could turn our house a home. It was then that I realized how much fun I was having being creative, and I wanted to create an outlet where others could have just as much fun crafting their own piece of home décor and memories along the way.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely been challenging! We are constantly testing new material and techniques all while trying to figure out the flow of owning our own business. Although we’ve hit a few bumps in the road, we’ve had a great support system and mentors along the way to help guide and cheer us on as we work through these learning curves.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Wood and Vino Craft Studio – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Wood and Vino is a family-owned DIY craft studio specializing in wood projects. Our guests pre-select their designs prior to their desired workshops, and we will have all of the material ready to go upon arrival. Our team will then walk everyone through distressing, sanding, staining, and painting their projects. Everyone leaves with their crafted pieces the very same night! Seeing our guest’s reactions as they peel back their stencils is one of the most rewarding parts. We not only want you to love your projects, but we want you to love the experience and memories you make along the way as well.
I would have to say that I am most proud of seeing how much we have grown as a team. Throughout the good times and the bad, it’s always good to see everyone just roll with the punches. We were recently voted “Best Place for Unique Finds” by 76272 locals, and it’s all because of the crew. We have the most amazing girls, and they never fail to go above and beyond for our guests.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We LOVE the Roanoke area. Everything has such a small town, small business feel and it just fits our studio’s personality perfectly!

- Our projects range between $40-70 depending on the size and complexity of the design. We also offer kid’s projects for $25.
