Hi Sam, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We moved to the U.S. in 2016 as a family and settled in Dallas, Texas. After working in different industries, we started experimenting with custom t-shirt printing in 2022 — just for fun at first.
We began with HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl). It was slow, limited to one color, and the final product felt stiff and plastic-like on the shirt. It wasn’t scalable or satisfying.
Then four of us teamed up and invested around $44,000 into a DTG (Direct to Garment) printer. The quality improved, but production was slow, expensive, and only worked well on certain fabrics. On top of that, DTG-printed garments had to be washed before wearing due to heavy chemical pre-treatment.
That pushed us to find a better solution — and that’s when we discovered DTF (Direct to Film) printing.
In June 2023, we imported our first DTF printer from China. It was anything but easy.
No one around us had experience with DTF. The manufacturer gave little support. We had to figure out everything — from color profiling to curing methods — by ourselves. There were moments we wanted to give up.
But we didn’t.
We saw the potential: fast production, vivid quality, no order minimums, and flexibility across fabric types.
By the third printer, we had finally cracked the code and started producing at scale. We first printed for ourselves, then for friends, and soon after, we launched DTF Dallas to serve customers nationwide.

What started as a small family business has now grown into a team of 50+ dedicated employees.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Learning how to do DTF printing was one of the hardest parts of our journey.
There was no one to guide us, no clear answers, no instructions that said “this should be the temperature,” or “shake your ink every day,” or “use this much powder.” Every little detail that people now casually mention on YouTube — we had to figure out the hard way.
We learned by trial and error. We ruined prints. We wasted film. We lost sleep.
But we kept going — slowly figuring out the exact settings, methods, and routines with our own hands.
It was painful at times, but it made us experts the real way — by doing, failing, and repeating. And now, that’s the same experience we use to help others avoid those mistakes.
