So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Let me take you back to one of the sweetest times of my life nearly six years ago after having my second baby. As much as I loved having my babies, finding the “new” me after kids was the hardest part. What I started to realize was, I hated getting ready in the morning, and I started to ask myself, why? What I found was that big-box fashion as we know it today doesn’t necessarily capture all women. I’m short and have a few curves in what feels like the wrong places, it felt like all the pieces I came across were made with a long and lean model figure in mind, which isn’t my body type. Buying things that weren’t for me led to such frustration trying to put myself together each morning. Whether it was going to a school meeting, business function with my husband, or church on Sunday, I did not feel comfortable in my clothes. I value how I look so I knew that getting dressed for the day was a necessity.
So, I decided that I was going to provide a solution to my very biggest frustrations which was the “after babies, active mom still wants to present myself well” place in life I was at. One night, I sat in my guest room with my laptop and began thinking out loud. What did I want to see different in fashion? I had no idea of how far it might go, but I knew I wanted to make a difference. I’m passionate about helping women of all body shapes, every age, and every stage of life find the right solution for them. Like most business owners, the start was small and mainly consisted of my family and friends. The more I shared my heart, the more I realized other women were stuck in the same rut I was. It quickly shifted and became about each of us finding the right us – whatever season of life we are walking through. Today, I’m honored to serve over 12,000 women and bring something to the table for everyone!
Has it been a smooth road?
Has it been a process? Of course! Do we transition, of course! I’ve adopted the manifesto, you either win or learn, never lose. With that mindset, I’ve been able to take all the bumps and struggles and turn them into wins. We are always learning to get better. My better isn’t just for me, it’s for every woman in my reach.

Stylebysamijo.com is an online boutique where women come together for more than just fashion, but also friendships. I’ve perfected the art of catering to all the “You’s”. The chasing toddler you, the working you, the rested you, the girl’s night out you, the weekend lover you, the day date you. You come for fashion, but you leave with sisterhood. In a world where everyone is so discounted, I’m passionate about bringing women together. I think one of the unique things about us is that stylebysamijo.com is me. I am Sami Jo. I do my postings, I host women in my home, I do my own Live’s on Facebook. I help women one on one, virtually or in person. I show up for myself and for other women every day. The shopping is great, but the community of ladies is even better!
If I had to pick one quality or characteristic to relate to my success, I would say love. I love helping women, I love seeing women get dressed and smile. Whether it’s across the screen or in person, some just call it shopping, I call it sisterhood. There is something to be said about building relationships; every woman is unique, and every woman matters. I believe caring about people more than caring about profit allows me to cultivate a community of women I truly love being a part of. Although most of our shopping is a virtual experience, the heartbeat behind Style By Sami Jo can be felt from your own screen.

I love our city and believe this place to be very fruitful for anyone looking to plant roots. The reality of what that looks like for each person will depend on the dreams of their very own heart. For myself, my dreams are non-negotiable and I will run at them full speed in any location!
