Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Hart.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am A Miracle: My True Story by Sandra Hart
A humble beginning, Sandra Hart founder and CEO of Hart Referrals LLC, overcame intriguing and life-threatening illnesses, that lead to a strong and motivated individual. After being misdiagnosed with lupus at the innocent age of 14, Sandra was confined to a wheelchair for eight years, and in a bed-bound, vegetable-like stage for two. Two years later, doctors at Scottish-rite hospital described her adolescent 16-year-old body in a condition similar to a weathered 86-year-old body and diagnosed her with the worst condition of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis they had ever witnessed. Just when it couldn’t get any worse in 2010, she was actually diagnosed with lupus. Through excruciating circumstances, and hindering adversities, all of the odds were against her in her battle to regain her confidence and self-worth.
After being neglected by her home health care agency, Sandra developed bedsores, often starved, was forced to sit in linen containing feces and urine, and conditions worsened because she lacked the ability to take her medication. Her arthritis prevented her bones from functioning properly and her hands were folded closed and her arms and legs inward. This was truly a desperate cry for help. Determined to walk again, therapy and water aerobics were two big steps in the road to recovery. After gastric bypass surgery, Sandra got double knee replacements and once again began therapy to learn to read, write, and most importantly, walk again.
After a miraculous recovery, Sandra reflected on her long journey and dedicated her life to helping others by opening her own business in May of 2009. Her goal was to simply ensure that people didn’t suffer the way that she did and that they received the proper treatment. Today Hart referrals is a consulting agency, focused on the overall well-being and improvement of a patient’s condition with a vast pool of resources, and qualified trustworthy companies that work to provide optimum healthcare services regardless of state or condition. The company serves as a direct link between companies and the communities they serve through numerous events, health fairs, fund-raising events, and charitable organizations. In conclusion out of fear of mistreatment happening to anybody else, she fought to gain her strength, and confidence and open a company just as strong as her will and desire and called it Hart Referrals, LLC. “There are many different referrals out, but everyone deserves a Hart Referral”

Items, Services & Observations for Consideration
Mail Services
1. Provide an individual mailing address
2. Provide facilities to receive US mail and other package deliveries for individuals.
3. Provide postal drop for individuals who desire to post US Mail
We will negotiate with the USPS to see how we can effectively work with them to create an efficient system and lower costs for those using the Day Resource Center.
Phone Services
Provide phone(s) for individuals to use for non-toll calls.
We will need a minimum of 8 phones to create an efficient phone network system that will allow those insides of the Day Resource to communicate internally and externally.
We will also prefer the ability to receive voicemails when no one is available to answer calls at the center.
We will also prefer a few charging/ports for mobile phones. By having a charging station inside of the Day Resource Center, clients will be able to effectively charge their mobile devices in an efficient and secure way.
Storage for Personal Items
Provide storage for bulk items i.e., Clothes, bedding, non-toxic items, etc.
Provide storage for Personal Documents with an effective filing system that can be locked with only access by Administration.
Laundry Services
Provide Self Service Washers & Dryers or Laundry drop off and pick up services. We can have a Laundry Area in the facility or coordinate with a local community Laundromat. Whichever is most cost-efficient. We can provide laundry supplies to those who use the Day Resource Center or they are welcome to bring their own supplies.
Showers
Provide Individual Shower facilities where those who use the Day Resource Center can take showers and maintain appropriate hygiene. This can be available during the hours of operation for those who are registered to use the facility. We prefer a separate area for men and women.
Clothing & Supplies
Supply of Donated Clothing by coordinating with community organizations and individuals who are happy to donate. That way we have fresh clean clothing for those who are in need. We will also coordinate with community organizations on personal hygiene supplies so we can have that available for those who may not have their own personal care items. This can include soap, deodorant, toothpaste, women’s feminine products, lotion, and any other product that we may deem necessary.

1. HMIS Entry/Update
2. Housing Counseling/applications (MDHA)
3. Benefits programs counseling/application

Temporary Weather Shelter Assistance
The Day Resource Center can provide a secure place for those who use the facility in case of inclement weather, natural disasters, acts of God, etc.
Support Group
Support is a main priority for us. We will have scheduled support meetings and sessions available for those who need extra support. This will be required for access to certain services.
Transportation
1.) We will need efficient and stable transportation vehicles that are “handicapped ready” for our clients. We will provide a route between dining, medical facilities, social security office, veterans services, etc.
2.) e.g., ACCC to Veterans Office to Lifepath, to Plano Medical, to SS (McKinney) to TSA (lunch) to ACCC 2x/day. With a valid ID, clients will be able to use this service. Knowledge of process and funds to secure needed IDs including a library car
