Sara, it’s been too long since we last connected. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with our community again. Some readers might have missed our prior conversations, so maybe you can kick things off for us with a quick intro?
Hello, my name is Sara and I’m a local Real Estate Agent here in Fort Worth. Born in a small West Texas town my family got to the metroplex as fast as they could! I attended Mansfield High School and moved to the big city of Fort Worth after graduation. From there I started to build roots, make new friends and eventually go on to work my way up through the service industry. Little did I know that my time in the restaurant industry was all the training I would need for what eventually would become my career in real estate. When my world came crashing down and I had reached a wall back in late 2014 I decided that it was time to stop drinking and start focusing on growing the good parts of me and my business. Going on 7 years now since that lowest point and looking back it feels like a whole other lifetime. I spend my days now working incredibly hard for my Clients and watching my sweet 14 year old son chase his dreams on and off the baseball field!
What has been the hardest thing to overcome in your business?
Real Estate is a constant grind and while I’m so incredibly grateful for the flexibility there are truly no days off. That can be mentally and emotionally taxing on folks. I’d say that and actually just building a brand which took several years of blood, sweat and tears to accomplish!
What’s a myth about your business you can debunk firsthand?
Real Estate is easy – nope! We don’t eat if Momma doesn’t sell and that’s the God’s honest truth of it. You can work with a Client for years and literally have a deal fall apart on closing day for something completely outside your control and never get paid. Real Estate is anything and everything but easy!
In what areas do you focus on most in order to run a successful business?
Scheduling and customer service. I live and die by my calendar, if it’s not on the calendar it just doesn’t happen. Implementing structure and systems that help me – who by nature is not organized – stay organized!
What motivates you? What is your WHY?
My WHY is showing my son Hudson that hard work pays off. It is to be able to share my heart and gift of connection with the world.
What makes you stand out?
I’m the Unicorn of Real Estate, EVERYTHING makes me stand out hahaha.
How do you earn and keep a Client’s trust and business before, during and after a transaction?
Honesty, authenticity, integrity and FUN!!
