Meet Sarah Lane and Emily Stanfield of WildBlu in Flower Mound Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Lane and Emily Stanfield.

Sarah and Emily, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We are three sisters born and raised in Southwest Louisiana and transplanted to Texas, and if there’s one thing we were raised on, it’s good food, hospitality and throwing a party. We have always loved helping people create the celebrations they envisioned, and started designing and planning events on the side a few years ago. We started noticing a trend of people wanting easy, affordable and simple weddings, and wanted to find a way to be able to offer all of that in one place.

We had the idea to incorporate a vintage trailer into our events, and purchased a 1972 Shasta Compact, sight unseen, from a Craigslist add in West Texas.

Today, our trailer, Miss Bliss, graces weddings and events all over the metroplex. We also offer carefully curated elopements.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! We are both mothers of small children and hold full time jobs, so we have really had to find a good balance in our schedules. But the majority of struggles have come from learning how to haul and maneuver a trailer. Thankfully, with the help and kindness of strangers and our steadfast support system, we made it through some pretty challenging situations.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about WildBlu – what should we know?
WildBlu wears a few hats. Our primary passion is curating elopement and pop up wedding packages that promote minimalism and intentionality. Our elopement collections will be centered around specific neighborhoods, highlighting local artisans in those areas. We’re excited to roll out our first package in Deep Ellum soon!

When Miss Bliss isn’t helping us marry couples in awesome ways, she is available for hire for weddings and private events all around Dallas! We can host anything from specialty cocktails, crafted coffees or late night snacks.

Our latest project and one that we are most proud of is called Anna’s Flowers. It is our charitable outreach that gives people the option to donate flowers after weddings, celebrations or corporate events to be re-created into small arrangements which are hand delivered to local seniors in the DFW area. Anna’s Flowers was started to carry on the legacy of our amazing grandmother, Anna Reed, who created a thriving floral enterprise out of her home in the small town of Eunice, Louisiana over 50 years ago. She resides in assisted living today and is still a total boss babe at 94 years young!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We believe in building relationships. Both with our clients and the vendors that we work with. We draw inspiration from the small businesses, creative artists and amazing nonprofits that we have had the privilege to work alongside. We love collaborations and truly enjoy helping to inspire creativity and supporting the local enterprise and organizations who are giving back and just loving people. This creates a quality product offering for our elopement and pop up wedding packages, plus it’s really really fun!
