Today we’d like to introduce you to Sazé.
Sazé, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I come from a family of musically inclined people. My uncle Snap had been rapping and singing way before I was born. My uncle Danka is a singer and very talented artist, he can draw anything. My little brother Jordan23hree started rapping around 7 or 8. He’s the one that got me into rapping. I always wrote poems but never rhymed to a beat. Fast forward to high school, where I met two guys that would change my life. My brothers, IRAI Ouree and Joka GP. I joined their rap group, Next Step 2 Lyrical Genius, NSLG for short. From then on, I fell in love with the art of rapping and creating music. Currently, I am a Baton Rouge native living in Dallas, Texas. I plan to take that next step in my music career while in Dallas. The goal is simple. Be undeniable.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road was never smooth. From starting in high school and having everyone laugh at you to funding everything yourself with little to no help. The road is strenuous and draining at times. It will break you if you have no faith. So you have to be very self-motivated and focused.
Please tell us about your work.
My name is Sazé. It’s short for Osazé meaning favored by God. I’m a Hip Hop artist. A rapper. I can’t tell you what I’m known for. I’m one of those if you know you know type of artist. A gem that you have to witness for yourself. I am most proud of turning people into believers and seeing people sing along to my songs at shows. It inspires me every time it happens. What sets me apart from others is how I see life and how I live it.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t start over and do anything differently. I believe I am on the right path. I’m still here living. Rest In Paradise Drew and Dee Black.
